The Feria del Caballo de Jerez 2026 takes place from 9 to 16 May at Parque González Hontoria. Hotels near the recinto ferial: Hotel Jerez & Spa (300 m), Exe Guadalete (800 m) or B&B Hotel Jerez (next to Chapín). In the historic centre: Palacio Garvey, Hotel Bodega Tío Pepe or Hotel Doña Blanca. RENFE station is just 500 m from the city centre (10 min walk). Book 3 to 6 months in advance: occupancy rate exceeds 93% during the Feria.

Every hotel in Jerez sells out within 24 hours of the Feria del Caballo dates being announced. Every May, this Andalusian city of 200,000 inhabitants transforms into the world capital of equestrianism, and hotel occupancy skyrockets to 93%. In 2026, the celebration takes on an extra dimension: Jerez proudly holds the title of Capital Española de la Gastronomía. From 9 to 16 May, 175 casetas open to everyone, riders in traje corto, 240 taxis, a record-breaking 2 million LED lights and the finest sherry wines in the world await you. This guide tells you exactly where to stay according to your preferred area — near the recinto ferial, in the historic centre or a stone’s throw from RENFE station — and how to get to the festivities night after night.

1. Staying near the recinto ferial: walk home at 3 a.m.

The ideal area for feria night owls

Chapín / González Hontoria district Recinto ferial under 10 min walk Walk back at 4 a.m. without a taxi Book 4 to 6 months in advance

Parque González Hontoria hosts the 175 casetas of the feria from 9 to 16 May. Staying less than 1 km from the recinto means avoiding long taxi queues after midnight and enjoying the feria until closing time, on nights when buses run until 5 a.m. The trade-off: hotels in this area sell out first and charge the highest prices during the Feria.

Hotel Jerez & Spa ★★★★ — closest to the feria

Located in a quiet residential neighbourhood north of Parque González Hontoria, Hotel Jerez & Spa is approximately 300 metres from the recinto ferial — less than 5 minutes’ walk. With its 131 rooms, outdoor pool surrounded by orange trees, spa (indoor saltwater pool, jacuzzi, hammam, sauna), Andalusian restaurant and large garden, it is the most sought-after address during the feria. Guests rate it 8.7/10, praising the staff and facilities.

  • Distance to recinto ferial: ≈ 300 m (5 min walk)
  • Highlights: pool, spa, gardens, restaurant
  • Off-season price: from €89/night (double or triple during the Feria)
  • Guest rating: 8.7/10

Hotel Exe Guadalete ★★★★ — tropical gardens 800 m away

Exe Guadalete, on Avenida Duque de Abrantes, is about 800 m from the recinto ferial (10 minutes’ walk, 650 m from Plaza del Caballo). Its 137 rooms with minibar and premium mattresses, pool, tropical gardens and restaurant make it a great option for those wanting comfort combined with proximity. The hotel also specialises in conferences, giving it well-honed infrastructure. Prices from €103/night off-season.

B&B Hotel Jerez ★★★★ — adjacent to Chapín

B&B Hotel Jerez, on Avenida Chema Rodríguez (Estadio Chapín), is literally adjacent to the Chapín sports complex, next door to Parque González Hontoria. It is the most affordable option in this area, with a rating of 8.3/10, a pool, parking and quick access to the airport (7 km). The historic centre is 15 minutes’ walk away. From €63/night off-season.

Pixidia tip: Hotels in this area are the most in-demand and the first to sell out. For the week of 9–16 May, book between November and January if possible. If in doubt, secure your room with free cancellation and decide later.

2. Staying in the historic centre: bodegas, cathedral and casetas within reach

Total Andalusian immersion — 20 min walk or 5 min by bus from the feria

Jerez historic district Feria 20 min walk or lines 5 and 16 Bodegas and cathedral a few steps away RENFE station 500 m from the district

Jerez’s historic centre brings together the cathedral, the Alcázar, González Byass bodegas (Tío Pepe), flamenco tabancos and Plaza del Arenal. Staying here means total immersion in jerezana culture — and reaching the feria by bus (lines 5 and 16, service until 5 a.m. on the busiest days) or taxi (€5–10 from the centre). Hotels in the centre are often more varied, from converted palaces to boutique hotels in 19th-century townhouses.

Hotel Bodega Tío Pepe ★★★★ — for sherry lovers

Located 350 metres from Bodega González Byass, in the historic heart, Hotel Bodega Tío Pepe is the perfect choice for those who want to combine the feria with wine culture. Its 26 rooms with balcony and sitting area, rooftop terrace bar, à la carte Mediterranean restaurant and adjacent bodega make it one of the most authentic addresses in Jerez. Ranked among the city’s best boutique hotels (#9 on TripAdvisor). From $213/night off-season.

Hotel Palacio Garvey ★★★★ — 19th-century grandeur

In a restored 19th-century palace at the heart of the historic centre, Palacio Garvey offers spacious rooms decorated with hydromassage baths, a library, a business centre and restaurant La Condesa (Mediterranean-Andalusian cuisine with local produce). A fine option for those seeking prestige and history. Superior room from €250/night off-season.

esZentrico Suites Jerez ★★★★ — the apartment hotel by the central market

Located near the Central Market, 6 minutes’ walk from the cathedral, esZentrico Suites offers apartments with fully equipped kitchens, a rooftop pool and a panoramic bar. Ideal for families or multi-night stays. One of the highest-rated properties for its location (« exceptional » rating on booking platforms).

Hotel Doña Blanca ★★★ — best value for money

Hotel Doña Blanca is in the heart of Jerez, steps from RENFE station and the cathedral. Its spacious rooms, large breakfast buffet (€10/person), private parking (€15/day) and 8.3/10 rating make it the ideal option for a controlled budget in the city centre. Direct access to a shopping arcade with boutiques and a hairdresser. From €50 off-season.

  • All casetas in the recinto ferial are freely accessible — in Jerez, no invitation needed unlike Seville
  • Bus lines 5 and 16: direct route historic centre → González Hontoria in ~15 min
  • Taxi centre → recinto ferial: €5–10
  • Live flamenco at Tabanco El Pasaje (since 1925): shows every day at 14:00, 19:00 and 21:00
Pixidia tip: In the historic centre, boutique hotels book out even earlier than chain hotels. Hotel Bodega Tío Pepe has only 26 rooms — if you’re aiming for this address, don’t wait.

3. Staying near RENFE station: practical if you arrive by train

The station is 500 m from the centre — not really a separate area

RENFE station: Plaza de la Estación Ferrocarril Historic centre 500 m (10 min walk) Seville ↔ Jerez: 47–59 min, ~15 trains/day From €10/journey

Jerez RENFE station is so close to the centre — barely 500 metres from Plaza del Arenal and 10–15 minutes’ walk — that it doesn’t really constitute a separate accommodation area. All hotels in the historic centre are equally close to the station. But if you prefer an affordable chain hotel, one address stands out.

Ibis Jerez de la Frontera ★★ — budget-friendly

Ibis Jerez, on Calle Rodrigo de Jerez, is 2 minutes’ walk from the city centre and 8 km from the airport. Its 101 rooms, free outdoor pool, free parking and some of the lowest rates in Jerez (from €36 off-season) make it the ideal option for budget-conscious travellers. Value for money is highly rated, and the hotel also offers breakfast at €8/person.

  • From Seville: 15 RENFE trains/day, 47–59 min, from €10
  • From Cádiz: Cercanías, ~35 min journey
  • From Madrid: AVE to Seville, then Cercanías (allow 4 h total)
  • From Paris: connecting flight from €73, ~9 h 30 total

Luxury option outside the centre: Hotel Villa Jerez ★★★★★

For a different experience, Hotel Villa Jerez is a restored 5-star manor surrounded by 4,000 m² of gardens, in a quiet residential neighbourhood a few minutes from the recinto ferial and the Real Escuela Andaluza del Arte Ecuestre. Only 18 unique rooms with garden or pool views. The intimacy and tranquillity of a private villa, right next to the festivities. From $88/night off-season.

Pixidia tip: If all hotels in Jerez are fully booked, consider staying in El Puerto de Santa María (20 min by train from Jerez) or Cádiz (35 min) — prices there are 2–3 times lower during the Feria, and the rail connection is frequent.

4. Getting around during the Feria del Caballo: buses, taxis and parking

240 taxis, 25 extra buses and service until 5 a.m.

Lines 5 and 16: centre → recinto ferial Extended service until 5 a.m. 240 taxis available (2026 record) 2,500 free parking spaces

The Feria del Caballo 2026 introduces a historic reinforcement of public transport. The city has added 25 extra buses to the urban fleet, with lines 5 and 16 serving Parque González Hontoria directly. Buses run until 5 a.m. on the first Saturday/Sunday, Thursday and Friday nights — the big 2026 novelty that changes everything for night owls without a car.

On the taxi front, Jerez deploys 240 vehicles (an absolute record), including 71 reinforcements from El Puerto de Santa María and Sanlúcar. A Teletaxi stand is set up next to the main Portada, on Avenida Álvaro Domecq. For safe late-night returns, a special transport service for women travelling alone is organised at night.

  • Bus lines 5 & 16: direction González Hontoria, ~15 min from the centre, ~€1.50–2
  • Taxi centre → recinto: €5–10. Teletaxi: ☎ 956 344 860 | WhatsApp: 657 804 545
  • Avoid Uber/VTC during the feria: surge pricing, sometimes €80–150 per trip as at the Seville Feria
  • By car: 2,500 free spaces (Av. Olimpiadas, Av. Chema Rodríguez) — but avoid Friday and Saturday evenings
  • On foot: from hotels near the recinto (Hotel Jerez & Spa, B&B Hotel, Exe Guadalete), walking in feria attire is all part of the experience!
Pixidia tip: Pre-order your taxi via WhatsApp from 1 a.m. on busy nights — demand explodes from 2 a.m. The walk back from the recinto is a tradition among Jerezanos: the late-night stroll is often the finest memory.

Frequently asked questions about accommodation at the Feria del Caballo 2026

When does the Feria del Caballo 2026 take place in Jerez?

The Feria del Caballo de Jerez 2026 takes place from Saturday 9 to Saturday 16 May 2026, at Parque González Hontoria. The inauguration (Alumbrado) takes place on Saturday 9 May at 10 p.m. The feria is open daily from 1 p.m. until the early hours, with the horse parades (Paseo de Caballos) from Tuesday to Saturday from 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Which hotel is closest to the recinto ferial in Jerez?

Hotel Jerez & Spa (4 stars) is approximately 300 metres from Parque González Hontoria, making it the closest hotel to the recinto ferial. B&B Hotel Jerez (Av. Chema Rodríguez) is literally adjacent to the Chapín complex, and Exe Guadalete (Av. Duque de Abrantes) is 800 m away. All three allow you to walk back after the feria.

When should I book my hotel for the Feria del Caballo de Jerez?

Ideally 3 to 6 months in advance, meaning between November and February for the May feria. Hotel occupancy in Jerez exceeds 93% during the Feria del Caballo. Boutique hotels with fewer than 30 rooms (Bodega Tío Pepe, Villa Jerez) sell out first. As a last resort, stay in El Puerto de Santa María (20 min by train) or Cádiz (35 min) where prices are much more affordable.

How do I get to the Feria del Caballo from the centre of Jerez?

From the historic centre, you have several options: bus lines 5 and 16 (~15 min journey, ~€1.50–2, service until 5 a.m. on the busiest nights), a taxi (€5–10, Teletaxi: ☎ 956 344 860), or walking (~20 minutes on foot). Free parking (2,500 spaces) is available around the park if you come by car, but avoid driving on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Are the casetas at the Feria de Jerez open to tourists?

Yes — this is the big difference from the Feria de Abril in Seville. In Jerez, the 175 casetas are entirely open and free to all visitors, with no invitation or membership required. Walk in freely, order a rebujito (manzanilla + lemonade + ice + mint) and join the sevillanas. Only drinks are charged.

What should I wear to the Feria del Caballo de Jerez?

There is no dress code for tourists. Smart casual attire is perfectly acceptable. Jerezanos wear the traje corto (men) or traje de flamenca (women). The key: comfortable shoes suited to the albero surface (sandy clay soil). In May, bring a light jacket for the evenings (14–17°C).

Do I need to rent a car in Jerez during the Feria?

It is not necessary and is generally inadvisable during Feria week. The reinforced urban buses (until 5 a.m. on the busiest nights), the 240 taxis available and frequent train connections from Seville and Cádiz are more than adequate. Uber and VTC platforms use surge pricing that can reach €80–150 per trip — use the official taxi instead (Teletaxi: ☎ 956 344 860).

Can I visit Jerez from Seville or Cádiz for the day?

Yes, it’s perfectly feasible. From Seville: 15 Renfe trains/day, 47–59 minutes, from €10. From Cádiz: Cercanías, around 35 minutes. It’s even a smart budget strategy: stay in Cádiz or El Puerto de Santa María and come to the feria for the afternoon and evening, returning on the last bus or train.
