10 Viator tours in Rhodes rated 4.72 and up cost €27 to €165 per adult in the 2027 season. The boat to Lindos runs only 26 of 60 days in season, and in winter just three tours run every day. For Lindos in January, take the minibus at €39 per adult.

Checked on via the Viator partner API (prices, ratings, availability).

When you search for an excursion in Rhodes, Lindos is the name that comes up most often. The village sits on its promontory, and its acropolis overlooks the bay. It is the obvious pick. But the city of Rhodes keeps its medieval old town, the east coast has its bays, and boats leave from several ports. So you have to choose. I picked ten Viator tours, all rated 4.7 and up with more than 100 reviews, and I tell you who each one suits.

One thing first, because it changes everything else. The season in Rhodes and the season for its excursions do not line up. If you are writing in November for a January trip, only three will run: the old town walking tour, the minibus to Lindos and the wine lunch. Six others close during the winter window of the check, and the private tour opens only eight days out of sixty. In season, the boat to Lindos runs only 26 days out of 60: check its calendar before you build a day around it. That is why the three that open in winter lead the list.

Here is how I worked, so you can check it. Prices come from the Viator partner API, for two adults, shown per person. They were checked on November 7, 2026 over two windows: the season, from June 1 to July 30, 2027, and winter, from November 21, 2026 to January 19, 2027. Ratings and review counts come from the same check. These are checked fares, not « from » starting prices. In season, each listing shows a single fare; in winter, only the wine lunch varies. Availability is counted day by day across each window.

A note on selection. Four of the ten products come from Half Price Tours, a single operator based near Mandraki harbor: a walking tour, a minibus, a boat to Lindos and an east coast cruise. The formats differ, and I did not drop a good product just because it shares an office with another. The other six come from five operators. So read the list as a choice of formats more than a choice of companies.

The table summarizes the ten experiences, then each one is detailed in the same order. The article continues with tips for combining excursions without complicating your week, and ends with the questions asked most often. For a specific departure time or meeting point, the operator’s listing is the reference at the time you book.

Why Rhodes: the Pixidia angle

The medieval old town of Rhodes is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO document 162797, by the World Heritage Site profile and by the Wikidata entry « Medieval City of Rhodes ». I cite these extracts from search results; the official UNESCO page could not be consulted for this article. Both old town tours in the selection fall within this perimeter: the walking tour and the Trikke ride. The three-hour walking tour passes through the Jewish Quarter, Ippokratous Square and the Street of the Knights, which gives you a sense of the route before you even set out.

Lindos is a village perched on a promontory, its acropolis overlooking the bay. The English Wikipedia article on Lindos describes it, and the entity Acropolis of Lindos is listed as heritage. I do not detail the visiting conditions for the acropolis here: paths, hours and dress code, because I have not checked them against a current source. Check with the authorities before you go, especially if you travel with someone who has trouble walking.

The distance between Rhodes town and Lindos varies by source, so I give no figure. The tourist pages I consulted put it at about an hour’s drive, depending on traffic and stops. For choosing, what matters is how you travel: four excursions go to Lindos, either by road in a bus or minibus, or by sea from Mandraki harbor.

The tour calendar is the factor that weighs most on your choice. In the winter window of the check, from November 21, 2026 to January 19, 2027, six of the ten products are closed. In season, from June 1 to July 30, 2027, nine of the ten are open 60 days out of 60; only the boat to Lindos runs 26 days out of 60. So it is less a question of destination than of date: the same trip can be excellent in June and cut down to three options in January.

Anthony Quinn Bay, featured in the east coast cruise, is described as a swimming and snorkeling spot, which the operator’s listing confirms. Several outings are on the water: the sea kayak and the cruise follow the coastline, the fishing trip leaves from Kolona, and the boat to Lindos leaves from Mandraki.

Prices and availability checked on the Viator partner API on November 7, 2026. Prices: season window from June 1 to July 30, 2027, for two adults, per person. Days open: winter window from November 21, 2026 to January 19, 2027, 60 days in total. The boat to Lindos (last row) runs only 26 of 60 days in season. Prices may change.

If you only keep one, take the walking tour on your first day, then the minibus to Lindos if you are there in winter. If you come in season, the kayak and the cruise give you the most time on the water, and the private tour the most flexibility.

The 10 Best Experiences in Rhodes

Small group following a guide along a street in Rhodes old town

1. Rhodes Old Town walking tour

Rating 4.85 (559 reviews) 3 h €72 per adult (base 2, 2027 season) Instant confirmation Open every day in winter

This is the first tour I recommend to anyone arriving in Rhodes without knowing the city. Three hours on foot with a licensed English-speaking guide, in a small group: the route passes the Jewish Quarter, Ippokratous Square and the Street of the Knights, and within one morning you understand how the medieval town is laid out. What sets it apart is the format. A small group means you can hear the guide and ask a question without jostling. It is also one of the three experiences open every day in winter, which makes it a solid first choice for a January trip. The best moment? Morning, early in your stay, to set the rest of the week. The catch: museum entrance fees are not included. If you want to enter a specific site, budget for it separately.

2. Minibus to Lindos with a swim at St. Paul’s Bay

Rating 4.83 (175 reviews) 5 h €39 per adult (base 2, 2027 season) Instant confirmation Open every day in winter

If you want only one trip to Lindos and you are travelling in January, this is the one. The air-conditioned minibus takes a small group, drives up to the village, leaves you free time there, then stops for a swim at St. Paul’s Bay. Departure is from the operator’s office near Mandraki harbor, with check-in between 9:30 and 9:40 a.m., and hotel pickup is possible. The figure that convinced me is the schedule: it is the only Lindos trip open every day from November through January, at €39 per adult. The catch: the day lasts about 5 hours in total, and between the swim and the village, your time gets split. Decide what you want to do first, and don’t plan to see everything.

3. Rhodes wine and food tour: 10-course lunch, wine tasting, cooking class

Rating 4.79 (124 reviews) 4 h €129 per adult (base 2, 2027 season); €62 to €129 in winter Confirmation sometimes manual Open every day in winter

This is the outing I would put at the top of the list for a couple who wants to eat differently from the harbor taverna. The ride takes half an hour to a family-run winery. You visit the vineyard and the distillery, take a cooking class, then sit down to a ten-course lunch with carefully chosen wines. A certified sommelier guide travels with the group, and the driver speaks English. The price is €129 per adult in season, and €62 to €129 in winter depending on the option you choose. The catch is confirmation: it is not always instant and may be done by hand. Book early enough not to depend on a last-minute confirmation, especially if you have a fixed date.

Rating 4.94 (206 reviews) 6 h €165 per adult (base 2, 2027 season) Instant confirmation Private tour Open 8 days out of 60 in winter

If you travel with children who tire quickly, with relatives who need breaks, or simply at your own pace, the private option is for you. An air-conditioned vehicle and a driver, a route between Lindos and the highlights of Rhodes town, and a flexible visit length: you don’t wait for a group to leave. The listing includes a stop at Kallithea Springs on the way, which the operator presents as a coastal stop. The catch is twofold. It is the most expensive tour on the list, at €165 per adult, and it opens only eight days out of sixty in winter. If you come in January, check the dates before you build your trip around it.

5. Sea kayaking along the coast: The Pirates Route

Rating 4.98 (512 reviews) 5 h €90 per adult (base 2, 2027 season) Instant confirmation Closed in winter, open in season

This has the best rating on the list, 4.98 from 512 reviews, and it is the outing I would book first if you visit Rhodes in spring or summer. Five hours of sea kayaking along the coast, departing from Kathara Beach in the Faliraki area, with lunch, dry bags and snorkeling gear. The format puts the coastline front and center, far from the streets of the town. Several options exist, and one includes round-trip transfers. Check which one you are booking before you pay, because the difference in price and logistics is not trivial. The catch is simple: the tour is closed from November to January. If you are in Rhodes in winter, skip it.

6. Trikke ride through the old town, 2 hours with a guide

Rating 4.91 (340 reviews) 2 h €48 per adult (base 2, 2027 season) Instant confirmation Closed in winter, open in season

The Trikke is a three-wheeled electric scooter. For two hours, with a guide and a helmet that lets you hear the commentary without shouting, you cover the old town without walking much. The operator’s listing says it covers more sites than a walking tour of the same length: that is the operator’s claim, and I pass it on as such. Departure is from the town hall, about fifteen minutes on foot from Mandraki harbor. Bottled water and liability insurance are included; lunch is not. The catch: the listing advises against the ride for pregnant women, and the option is closed all winter. It is the right choice if you want the old town without walking. If you want to wander the lanes, take the walking tour instead.

  • Bottled water and insurance included

7. Fishing trip from Kolona

Rating 4.86 (361 reviews) 5 h €69 per adult (base 2, 2027 season) Instant confirmation Closed in winter, open in season

The boat leaves from Kolona harbor, outside the city walls, on a traditional blue and white fishing boat. Five hours on board: an introduction to fishing with the fisherman, a meal prepared on board, and time to swim with the snorkeling gear provided. This is the outing I recommend to anyone who wants direct contact with the sea rather than a group excursion. The catch is in the wording. The listing speaks of an introduction and a meal, not of guaranteed fishing: if you hope to reel in a catch, you may be disappointed. Since the departure is in Kolona, check the route from your accommodation before you book, especially if you don’t have a car.

8. East coast cruise: three bays and a Greek lunch

Rating 4.83 (309 reviews) 6 h €77 per adult (base 2, 2027 season) Instant confirmation Closed in winter, open in season

A full day on the east coast, with three bays: Anthony Quinn, Traganou and Kalithea. The lunch is Greek and traditional, local wine and alcoholic drinks are included, and snorkeling gear is provided. The bay is described as a swimming and snorkeling spot, which the operator’s listing confirms. The format suits anyone who wants to swim and eat lunch without organizing a thing. Departure is from the operator’s office near Mandraki harbor, with check-in between 9:15 and 9:40 a.m. for visitors without transfer. The catch: the trip is closed from November to January. If you travel in winter, this cruise is not for you, despite its 4.83 rating from 309 reviews.

9. Express bus to Lindos, 4 hours in the village

Rating 4.72 (894 reviews) 7.5 h €27 per adult (base 2, 2027 season) Instant confirmation Closed in winter, open in season

This is the least expensive trip to Lindos on the list, at €27 per adult in season. An air-conditioned bus picks you up at Ialyssos, Ixia, Kallithea or Rhodes Town, depending on your area, between 8:45 and 10:00 a.m.; cruise passengers are collected at the port at 9:30. You reach the village with about four hours of free time, and the driver hands out a map of Lindos. I have to be honest about the rating: 4.72 from 894 reviews, the lowest on the list. It stays above my 4.7 cutoff, but only just, and it may move at the next check. The catch is the duration: seven and a half hours in total, about four of them in Lindos. It is a long day for one village.

Arriving in Lindos by sea changes the village. The boat leaves from Mandraki harbor, makes two swim stops, and leaves about three hours of free time in the village. Shower and toilets are on board, and a skipper runs the crossing. Check-in is at 8:00 a.m. at the operator’s office, with boarding from 8:00 to 8:20 for visitors without hotel transfer. The catch is the calendar. The listing offers specific dates, and the season window shows only 26 open days out of 60, between June and July 2027. The option is closed in winter. Check the exact day on the listing before you build your day around it.

Planning Your Trip

Two calendars to read

The check covers two 60-day windows: winter, from November 21, 2026 to January 19, 2027, and season, from June 1 to July 30, 2027. Three excursions open every day in winter, and only one goes to Lindos. Six are closed in that period. Check the window that applies to you before you choose.

Getting to the departure point

Departure points are spread out: Mandraki harbor for the walking tour, the boat and the cruise, Kolona harbor for fishing, Kathara Beach for kayaking, Rhodes town hall for the Trikke. Several tours offer pickup at your hotel or cruise port: ask when you book.

Budget per person

In season, the budget per adult runs from €27 (bus to Lindos) to €165 (private tour). In winter, the wine lunch ranges from €62 to €129 depending on the option. The prices are for two adults, per person, and do not necessarily include meals or entrance fees: read the details on each listing.

Practical Tips on the Ground

Booking in winter without getting the date wrong

If you are booking from November, the rule is simple: start from the date, not the list. Once your date is set, only three options stay open every day, and the private tour runs only eight days. Book the walking tour and the minibus to Lindos first, since they are the most reliable. Keep the wine lunch for a day when you have free time ahead, because its confirmation can be manual and it is better not to depend on a last-minute validation.

Lindos without rushing

Four excursions go to the village, and they do not leave the same amount of time there. The express bus leaves about four hours, the boat about three. The minibus lasts five hours in total, and the private tour (six hours) has flexible visit timing. The bus is the cheapest at €27, but it takes seven and a half hours in total: weigh what matters more to you, budget or fatigue. For the village and its acropolis, access conditions are not detailed here. Check the official information before your visit, especially if you have trouble walking on slopes.

Combining a half day in town with a day at the coast

The simplest way to fill a week is to split it: a morning in the old town, with the walking tour (or the Trikke, in season), then a day at sea or a trip to Lindos. Avoid back-to-back boat days, though: cruises and fishing trips last five to six hours, and you will need to recover. To build a tailored itinerary, the Pixidia planner can suggest combinations based on your days.

What affects the budget

Prices are per adult, calculated for two travelers: for a couple, the total is double the price shown. Add what is not included, such as museum entrance fees in the old town. For a low-cost trip to Lindos, the €39 minibus is the only one open every day in winter. If your budget is tight, the walking tour (€72) and the Trikke (€48, in season) cover the old town: each costs less than €75 per person, but together they come to €120. The journey to the Trikke departure point, the town hall, is not included in that price.

Language, confirmation and cancellation

Several guides and drivers speak English: the walking tour guide and the wine lunch driver. Check the language on the listing if it matters to you. Nine of the ten products show instant confirmation, and free cancellation appears on all of them. The cancellation window varies by operator: for the walking tour it closes 24 hours before departure, but for the other products, read the rule on the listing when you pay.

Yes, especially for the private tour, which opens only eight days out of sixty in winter, and for the wine lunch, whose confirmation can be manual. Nine of the ten products show instant confirmation in the check. Book as soon as you know your dates, and leave a margin if you chain two excursions in the same week.

Every product in the check shows free cancellation. The window varies by operator: for the walking tour, the listing offers free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure.
