The United Cup 2027 runs from 1 to 10 January 2027 in Perth (RAC Arena) and Sydney (Ken Rosewall Arena). Tickets have been on sale since 2 November 2026, from 45 (currency not specified by the organiser). Ticketek sells the Perth seats, Ticketmaster the Sydney ones.

Checked on against the official sources cited (organiser, RAC Arena, Ticketmaster, Transperth).

Torn between Perth and Sydney for the United Cup 2027? The tournament lasts ten days and is split between two cities that are far apart. This article gathers what the organiser, the two venues and the ticketing platforms publish at the time of writing, flags what still needs confirming, and helps you choose your week according to your budget and how much tennis you want to watch.

1. The schedule: two cities, ten days

The tournament runs from Friday 1 to Sunday 10 January 2027. The split is the same from start to finish: Perth hosts the group stage and one quarter-final on Wednesday 6 January, while Sydney hosts the other quarter-finals, the semi-finals and the final. The organiser’s official overview sets out this split, and the pages of both venues repeat it (unitedcup.com, overview, checked on 7 November 2026).

The format matters when you pick your dates. Eighteen nations take part, with nine teams in each city split into three groups of three. The tournament is shared, so staying in only one of the two cities gives you access to just part of the competition.

Perth’s session times are not set yet: the RAC Arena page says « TBC » and refers the full schedule to later. For Sydney, the ticketing page lists fourteen sessions, detailed below.

2. Perth: the RAC Arena opens the tournament

RAC Arena, Perth

Tickets from 45 (currency not specified) 1 to 6 January 2027 Southern summer, hot Groups, then one quarter-final

The RAC Arena is at 700 Wellington Street, in central Perth. It hosts the group stage from 1 to 5 January, then the quarter-final on Wednesday 6 January. The organiser’s official page says Ticketek is the only authorised agent for the venue and that tickets are delivered as the event approaches (RAC Arena, United Cup 2027 page, checked on 7 November 2026).

Two venue rules are worth knowing before you go. The car park opens from 5:30 am to midnight from Monday to Thursday and stays open around the clock from Friday to Sunday, with an event rate of A$30 whose start date is not published. Bags larger than A4 are not allowed in, handbags included.

For access, the RAC Arena is close to Perth station, about 800 m on foot according to one guide, and the Busport is about 550 m away according to an older page. These distances need checking for 2027.

The organiser’s « What’s on » page, checked on 7 November 2026 but not yet updated for 2027, describes activities on site: an activity book, Hot Shots and POP Tennis taster sessions, face painting near the kids’ area and a photo with the trophy. It also lists « The Baseline Club » package, for groups of 12 to 18 people, with food and drinks, but no published price.

Highlights

  • The city’s full group stage, from 1 to 5 January, in one place.
  • Activities for children and families, planned on site according to the organiser’s latest published edition.
  • The quarter-final on Wednesday 6 January, which closes Perth’s part of the tournament.

If you only want one day of tennis, Perth is the simplest choice. For a slot of about 90 minutes during your stay, Optus Stadium, the city’s main sports venue, offers a guided tour. It is not the tournament venue, but the experience stays close to sport.

Pixidia tip: Perth’s session times are not set yet. Decide your day in Perth once the full schedule is published, and do not buy a session ticket before you have seen it.

3. Sydney: Ken Rosewall Arena for the semi-finals and the final

Ken Rosewall Arena, Sydney Olympic Park

Tickets from 45 (currency not specified) 2 to 10 January 2027 14 sessions Evening session at 5:30 pm

Ken Rosewall Arena is in Sydney Olympic Park, in western Sydney, on the corner of Olympic Boulevard and Shirley Strickland Avenue (NSW 2127). Group matches are played there from 2 to 6 January, the quarter-finals on 7 and 8 January, the semi-finals on Saturday 9 January and the final on Sunday 10 January. The Ticketmaster listing shows nine group sessions, two quarter-finals, two semi-finals and one final.

Day sessions start at 10:30 am and evening sessions at 5:30 pm. The ticketing page does not give a time zone: check the local time shown at purchase before you plan your trip. Seats are sold on Ticketmaster, the official ticketing platform for Sydney.

On foot, Ken Rosewall Arena is ten to fifteen minutes from Sydney Olympic Park station. From the city centre, trains run via Lidcombe. The Sydney Olympic Park site said that for the 2026 edition, train, metro and tram travel was included in the event ticket, provided you show your ticket to staff. These points need checking for 2027. The car parks P3 and P4 are the closest, and car park bookings close at 11:59 pm the day before. Also check weekend rail works on Transport NSW.

Highlights

  • Two sessions a day on Saturday 2, Sunday 3, Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 January, one of them in the evening.
  • The quarter-finals, semi-finals and final at the same venue, so you can stay in one place for the end of the tournament.
  • A final on Sunday evening at 5:30 pm: an easy end to your stay to organise.
Pixidia tip: if you only keep one evening in Sydney, choose the final on Sunday 10 January at 5:30 pm. To also see the semi-finals, Saturday 9 January has two sessions.

The table below lists the fourteen sessions as they appear on the ticketing page.

4. Tickets: from 45, two official platforms

Sales have been open since 2 November 2026. The organiser’s announcement says tickets are on sale for all sessions, in Perth as in Sydney (official announcement of 2 November 2026, checked on 7 November 2026).

The announcement gives a starting price of 45 for the group stage and the finals, without naming the currency: Australian dollars are likely, though not confirmed. It does not give seat categories either, and no full price grid had been published at the time of checking. A starting price tells you little about what a seat costs for an evening session: wait for the price grid per session before budgeting for a specific seat. No concession rate appears in the sources checked.

One point to keep in mind: the Perth « What’s on » page still said « Tickets on sale soon », while the RAC Arena page says « TICKETS ON SALE NOW ». This article uses the date of the announcement, which is the reference.

Two platforms share the seats. Ticketmaster sells the Sydney seats (session listing). For Perth, the RAC Arena names Ticketek as its only authorised agent (venue page). Fake tickets circulate on social media and on unauthorised sites: buy only on these two platforms.

Source: organiser’s announcement of 2 November 2026 and RAC Arena, 2027 page, checked on 7 November 2026. Amounts without a currency, as the organiser does not specify one.

Resale is regulated. In Western Australia, the consumer regulator (Consumer Protection WA, September 2026 announcement, read through a search) says an event ticket cannot be resold for more than 10% above its original price. Ticketek names Ticketek Marketplace as the only official resale market: that page was not checked at the time of writing.

To budget the stay, plan for four items: the ticket (from 45, currency to confirm), local transport (an Opal card in Sydney, with a daily cap of A$19.30 or A$9.65 depending on the day; a SmartRider card in Perth, where Sunday travel is free), the flight between the two cities and accommodation. For the flight and the accommodation, no fare for January 2027 has been checked with an airline or a host. Do not treat a range found on an aggregator as a firm price.

Booking accommodation early is recommended in the areas near Sydney Olympic Park (Parramatta, Homebush) and in Perth (Northbridge, Fremantle). The period overlaps school holidays: in New South Wales, from 18 December 2026 to 27 January 2027, and in Western Australia, from 18 December 2026 to 31 January 2027. These last dates come from secondary sources and should be checked on the government website.

This article links to no resellers. The only links given are those of the two official platforms.

5. Getting around: free Sundays in Perth, contactless in Sydney

In Perth, the Transperth network does not charge for travel on Sundays for passengers who pay with a SmartRider card or a contactless payment method. This is a permanent rule of the network, not an advantage reserved for the tournament. The Sundays of the tournament are 3 and 10 January 2027 (Transperth, Free travel, checked on 7 November 2026).

The conditions matter. You must tap on and tap off. Free travel does not apply to services after midnight on Saturday, nor to a SmartRider card with a negative balance. A paper ticket is not covered by this rule: a passenger with neither a card nor a contactless payment method pays for the trip.

In Sydney, you pay with an Opal card or a contactless bank card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express). Tap on and tap off are mandatory. Foreign transaction fees on bank cards are charged once a day (Transport NSW, payment options for visitors, checked on 7 November 2026). For an adult, the daily Opal cap is A$19.30 from Monday to Thursday, and A$9.65 on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays, according to an official notice from July 2025. Check these amounts on transportnsw.info before you leave.

To travel between the two cities, the direct flight is the option most often mentioned. Aggregators put it at about four hours, with no date given. We publish no flight price for January 2027, as no fare has been checked with an airline.

What other guides don’t tell you

Six points from the official pages checked on 7 November 2026 do not appear in the search results and guides reviewed for this article. Each one links to its source.

  • Sydney sessions have set times. Fourteen sessions are listed, at 10:30 am or 5:30 pm. Saturday 9 January has two semi-final sessions, and the final on Sunday 10 January has only one, at 5:30 pm (Ticketmaster, session listing, checked on 7 November 2026).
  • The starting price is a range with no grid. The announcement gives tickets from 45 for the group stage and the finals, without a currency or seat categories (organiser’s announcement, checked on 7 November 2026).
  • The RAC Arena turns away bags larger than A4. Handbags are included, which may surprise readers who arrive with a backpack (RAC Arena, United Cup 2027 page, checked on 7 November 2026).
  • Free Sunday travel in Perth has conditions. You need a SmartRider card or a contactless payment, must tap on and tap off, and must not have a negative balance. The Sundays of the tournament are 3 and 10 January 2027 (Transperth, Free travel, checked on 7 November 2026).
  • Only one agent sells RAC Arena seats. Ticketek is named as the only authorised agent for the venue, which helps you rule out unofficial resellers (RAC Arena, United Cup 2027 page, checked on 7 November 2026).
  • The draw has not happened yet. It is announced for mid-November 2026, and the full list of teams, so which countries play in each city, will be published after the draw (organiser’s announcement, checked on 7 November 2026).

Practical information before you leave

Entry formalities

Check which electronic authorisation applies to your passport before you leave, on the official Australian government site. Two authorisations are involved: the ETA (601), applied for through the official app, and the eVisitor (651), which the sources checked describe as free for some European passports, without the sources agreeing. Some agencies mention a 20 AUD fee for the ETA. This amount is not confirmed, as the Home Affairs page could not be opened (404 error at the time of checking): this article gives no amount.

Heat and safety

In January, the average daily maximum is 31.2 °C in Perth and 26.0 °C in Sydney, long-term, according to the Bureau of Meteorology. Recent peaks were higher: 42.2 °C in Sydney on 10 January 2026, according to the Bureau’s daily observations, and 39.1 °C in Perth on 20 January 2026, from a station the weather press does not name. Check these readings before you leave. The Cancer Council recommends sun protection from a UV index of 3, which means most summer days: clothing, SPF 50+ sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, shade and sunglasses. The UK government also flags a higher bushfire risk in Australia from October to February (gov.uk, Australia travel advice, checked on 7 November 2026).

Public holidays

Friday 1 January 2027 is a public holiday (New Year’s Day), the day the tournament opens. Tuesday 26 January 2027 is Australia Day (Fair Work, public holidays 2027, found through a search, to check).

Don’t confuse it with Melbourne

The Melbourne tournament runs from Monday 11 to Sunday 31 January 2027, with the main draw starting on 17 January. The two events are separate, and their tickets are not interchangeable (Melbourne Park, Australian Open 2027, checked on 7 November 2026).

Frequently asked questions

What are the dates of the United Cup 2027?

The United Cup 2027 runs from Friday 1 to Sunday 10 January 2027. Perth hosts matches from 1 to 6 January, Sydney from 2 to 10 January. These dates come from the organiser’s official overview, checked on 7 November 2026 (unitedcup.com).

Which cities host the United Cup 2027?

The tournament is held in Perth and Sydney, and in these two cities only. In Perth, the competition takes place at the RAC Arena, with the group stage and a quarter-final on 6 January. In Sydney, Ken Rosewall Arena at Sydney Olympic Park hosts the other quarter-finals, the semi-finals and the final (RAC Arena, checked on 7 November 2026).

How much do United Cup 2027 tickets cost?

The organiser announces tickets from 45 for the group stage and the finals. The announcement does not give the currency: Australian dollars are likely, but not confirmed. It does not give seat categories either, and no full grid had been published at the time of checking. Wait for the price grid per session before budgeting for a specific seat (announcement of 2 November 2026).

Where can I buy United Cup 2027 tickets?

Sydney tickets are sold on Ticketmaster, and Perth tickets on Ticketek, which is named as the only authorised agent for the RAC Arena. Buy only through these official platforms: tickets sold on social media or on unauthorised sites expose you to fraud (Ticketmaster, checked on 7 November 2026).

When do tickets go on sale?

Sales have been open since 2 November 2026 for all sessions, according to the organiser’s announcement. The Perth « What’s on » page still said « Tickets on sale soon » when checked, while the RAC Arena page says tickets are on sale. The date of the announcement is the reference.

When is the draw?

The draw is announced for mid-November 2026. It decides which countries play in Perth and which play in Sydney. The organiser publishes the full list of teams after the draw. The exact date is not confirmed yet: follow the official site in the days before (unitedcup.com).

Can I bring a backpack into the RAC Arena?

No. The RAC Arena does not admit bags larger than A4, handbags included. For a day in Perth, take a small bag and leave the large one at your accommodation. The rule applies to handbags as well as backpacks (RAC Arena, United Cup 2027 page, checked on 7 November 2026).

Is public transport free on Sundays in Perth?

Yes, for passengers who pay with a SmartRider card or a contactless payment method: the Transperth network does not charge for travel on Sundays. You must tap on and tap off, and not have a negative balance. The Sundays of the tournament are 3 and 10 January 2027 (Transperth, checked on 7 November 2026).

Do I need a visa?

It depends on your passport. The two electronic authorisations to know are the ETA (601), applied for through the official app, and the eVisitor (651), which the sources describe as free for some European passports, without the sources agreeing. Check the official Australian government site for the one that applies to you before you book. The 20 AUD figure mentioned by agencies is not confirmed by that site.

How hot is it?

January is hot in both cities. The long-term average daily maximum for January is 31.2 °C in Perth and 26.0 °C in Sydney, according to the Bureau of Meteorology. Higher peaks were recorded recently: 42.2 °C in Sydney on 10 January 2026, and 39.1 °C in Perth on 20 January 2026 (station not named, to check). Plan sun protection from a UV index of 3, water, and shade for walks and waiting outdoors.

How is the 2027 edition different from the January 2026 United Cup?

It is a different edition. The United Cup 2027 runs from 1 to 10 January 2027, and the dates, venues and tickets described here are those of this edition. Do not reuse a 2026 schedule: dates and times do not carry over from one year to the next. The official overview presents it as the fifth edition (unitedcup.com, checked on 7 November 2026).

Should I choose Perth or Sydney?

Choose Sydney if you want to see the semi-finals or the final, on 9 and 10 January. Choose Perth if the group stage is enough, with matches from 1 to 5 January. For a full week, plan both cities, bearing in mind a flight of about four hours between them, according to undated aggregators.

Is there a direct flight between Perth and Sydney?

Direct flights link the two cities, lasting about four hours according to aggregators whose data is not dated. No fare for January 2027 has been checked with an airline. Compare prices directly on the airline sites before you book, and check the date carefully.

What is the United Cup like to watch?

No assessment of the spectator experience was found on open sources at the time of writing, so this article gives no rating. What the official pages do say: the tournament has WTA 500 status (WTA 2027 listing) and brings together mixed teams from 18 nations, who play men’s singles, women’s singles and mixed doubles. The team format is the thing to keep in mind when you choose your sessions.
