New York Comic Con 2026: Tickets, Hotels and Weekend Guide

1. NYCC 2026 tickets: what is still on sale

Thursday and Sunday: the two days still within reach

According to the official box office, the early bird period ended on 3 September at 11:59pm, and current prices include the ticket, service fees and 8.8% sales tax. As of 15 September, only adult Thursday (103.98 dollars, roughly £77) and adult Sunday (109.42 dollars, roughly £81) were available, along with the Thursday child ticket at $38.65. Friday ($109.42) and Saturday ($114.86) were sold out on the official site, as were the 4-day pass ($359.28) and VIP ($990.75). A press article from 7 September still showed Friday as available: the official page is the final word, and it is worth checking again before you give up.

Highlights and limits

• A ticket is a named badge, to be activated at nycc.io/activate or at the entrance if you collect it at Will Call.
• Postal delivery has closed (last order on 14 September): international buyers collect their badge at Will Call, with the confirmation email or QR code.
• The child ticket (ages 6 to 12) is bought alongside an adult ticket; check the exact age limit in the terms of sale.
• There is no official resale platform in 2026: listings on eBay or Facebook carry a risk of fraud.

Pixidia tip: NYCC tickets are sold only by the organiser, never on Viator or through a reseller. The Javits sits next to Chelsea and the High Line: a food tour of the area, before Thursday’s opening or after Sunday’s close, fills half a day nicely.

2. Thursday or Sunday: which day to choose

The Geekiary describes Thursday as the day that almost never fills up, with programming running until 10pm. Sunday is shorter: the show floor, Artist Alley and panels close at 5pm, and it draws more families. Saturday, which the comics press compared in 2025 to a « Super Bowl Sunday » for comics, is sold out anyway.

Official hours to remember

• Show floor: 10am to 7pm Thursday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm on Sunday.
• Artist Alley and Writers Block: until 8pm Thursday to Saturday, until 5pm on Sunday.
• Panel programming: 10am to 10pm on Thursday, 10am to 5pm on Sunday.

These hours come from Popverse and match 2025: check them in the official app before you leave. Retailer Day on Wednesday 7 October is for trade visitors only and does not concern the general public.

Booking a panel: the lottery

For the big rooms (Main Stage and Empire Stage), reservations this year go through a lottery. According to Friends of Comic Con, the sign-up window ran from 14 to 16 September and results are expected between 30 September and 2 October. With a reservation, plan to arrive about 35 minutes before the start. Without one, allow 60 to 90 minutes for a high-demand panel.

3. The 2026 line-up: what is worth the trip

The programming announcement published by NYCC names Nicolas Cage as guest of honour, appearing on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October for a panel, autographs and paid photo ops, according to Collider. Rooms and times for some panels differ from one source to another: the official app remains the reference.

Thursday 8 October

• 11am: Game of Thrones reunion with Lena Headey and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, in room 405.
• 12:30pm: Dexter: Resurrection season 2 on the Main Stage.
• 4:15pm: Marvel Television & Animation on the Empire Stage; 6:30pm: Crystal Lake, the Friday the 13th prequel.
• 8pm: Coney Island Variety Show, 18+ only, in room 405.

Sunday 11 October

• 11am: NCIS: New York, with LL Cool J and Scott Caan, on the Main Stage.
• 12:15pm: R. L. Stine in room 409; 2:15pm: The Rookie, season 9, on the Main Stage.
• 1:30pm: final Coney Island Sideshow session on the Community Stage.

The 20th anniversary theme comes from the official Coney Island page: the Coney Island USA Sideshow sets up at the Javits with acts on the Community Stage, plus merchandise inspired by Brooklyn’s funfair. The Crown Championships of Cosplay take place on Saturday on the Main Stage.

4. Where to stay during NYCC: the real options

Hell’s Kitchen, Chelsea or New Jersey

Average $429 a night in October (about £317) Official block closed on 5 September 10 to 15 min on foot from the Javits Ferry or PATH from New Jersey

The only official provider is Connections Housing, and NYCC states that official hotels do not honour direct bookings. Its deadline was 5 September. The blocks listed on connectionshousing.app showed $299 to $529 a room (Embassy Suites Times Square, Hilton Garden Inn Times Square Central, Millennium Broadway, MOXY Times Square), 1.2 or 1.3 miles from the Javits. Treat these rates as a benchmark, not an offer you can still book.

Elsewhere, the average price recorded in Manhattan in October is $429 a night according to Engine, and the specialist site Comics Beat reports floors around $350 during the convention, while noting that no genuinely close hotel to the Javits exists.

Where to look

• West Midtown, about 0.3 miles away: Courtyard by Marriott Midtown West (461 W 34th St) and Four Points by Sheraton Midtown West (444 10th Ave), according to Hotel Guides.
• Arlo Midtown (351 W 38th St), 10 minutes on foot according to its own NYCC guide.
• New Jersey: Comics Beat cites hotels 25 to 40% cheaper, 30 to 50 minutes away by ferry (W 39th St terminal) or PATH ($3.25).

Pixidia tip: be wary of any company claiming to be an NYCC partner other than Connections Housing, and of calls « from the hotel » asking for a card number. Book with free cancellation and compare several platforms before paying.

5. Flights, airports and the subway to the Javits

The 7 train, 34 St-Hudson Yards station

The 34 St-Hudson Yards station on the 7 line is one block from the Javits, according to NYC Tourism. The fare has been $3 since January 2026, with a $35 cap over rolling seven days and payment by contactless card or smartphone: the MetroCard is no longer sold, according to the MTA. The M34-SBS and M12 buses also serve the area. Works closing the 7 line between 34 St-Hudson Yards and 74 St-Broadway are announced for the weekend of 17 October, so after the convention. If you use a UK bank card, check its foreign transaction fees before tapping in.

From the airport

• JFK: AirTrain then subway for $11.75, or AirTrain then LIRR to Penn Station for $14 to $16, according to the MTA.
• Newark: AirTrain then NJ Transit or Amtrak to Penn Station, about $13 to $15.50 in total.
• Car or taxi: best avoided, given parking, the congestion charge below 60th Street and traffic around the Lincoln Tunnel.

Pixidia tip: October airfares are not fixed. Virgin Atlantic and British Airways fly nonstop from Heathrow, and Norse Atlantic UK adds a lower-cost option. Virgin Atlantic lists fares to New York from £388, and comparison sites show typical London to New York returns of roughly £340 to £580. Compare on the day, because these figures move.

6. Estimated budget from London

Working assumption: one traveller, four nights from Wednesday 7 to Sunday 11 October, two convention days (Thursday and Sunday), at a rate of one dollar to £0.74, roughly the mid-September level. This is an estimate to refine, not a guaranteed price.

• London to New York return flight: £350 to £750, with a mid-range figure around £550.
• Thursday and Sunday tickets: $213.40, about £158.
• Accommodation, four nights: from £600 (New Jersey or a hostel) to £1,900, around £1,200 mid-range.
• Local transport and airport transfers: £45 to £130 depending on the option chosen.
• Meals: £130 to £390, based on $40 to $90 a day excluding fine dining.
• ESTA, eSIM and travel insurance: £60 to £155 in total.

The total comes to around £1,300 at the leanest, £2,400 mid-range and £3,900 for a comfortable stay, excluding merchandise, autographs and photo ops with guests, whose 2026 prices are not covered here.

7. On the day: tips from the floor

• Arrive around 9:30am: according to The Geekiary, once the show floor queue is full, entry closes until space frees up.
• Will Call is at the Blue Entrance on the 11th Avenue side; standard badges go through the Green Entrances. A security check with bag search is in place at opening.
• Download the official app: Javits map, panel list and badge activation.
• Bring broken-in shoes, a light jacket or a poncho (roughly a 32% chance of rain on any given day in October), a power bank and a little cash.
• The show floor restrooms are overwhelmed from the moment doors open: use those in the panel areas or on the lower level.

For cosplay, NYCC publishes a « Cosplay & Prop Rules » page: read it before preparing a costume or prop, as the rules on weapons and props have changed over the editions. Always ask a cosplayer’s permission before photographing them.

For food, two food courts sit inside the Javits, but guides find them pricey. East of 11th Avenue, Popverse recommends Friedman’s (450 10th Avenue) and Finn’s Bagels (477 10th Avenue, open from 6am), among others. The Hell’s Kitchen area, along 9th Avenue between 42nd and 52nd Streets, has dozens of affordable spots. Service is not included in the US: expect to tip 18 to 22% at a sit-down restaurant, well above the optional service charge you may be used to in the UK.

8. Around the Javits, with or without a ticket

The High Line ends at 34th Street, right by the Javits, and Little Island is a free park on the Hudson. For comics, Midtown Comics (Times Square and Grand Central) and Forbidden Planet are the go-to shops. Monday 12 October is a US federal holiday (Columbus Day, not a UK bank holiday): the parade runs down Fifth Avenue from 44th to 72nd Street, according to Carnifest, and some venues change their hours that day.

Without a ticket, several options remain: follow the main stage panels by livestream, spot cosplayers on the streets around the Javits during the convention, or head to the comic shops.
