ADE has no central stage or all-access ticket for every night. ADE Pro, concerts, clubs and cultural events take place at different venues, each with its own organiser and entry rules. The ticket page lists more than 3,300 artists, 1,200 events and 300 venues for 2026. These are programme figures supplied by the organiser, not an independent count of people or unique sessions. ADE’s official ticket page and its practical guide are the references to check before you go.

This edition marks 30 years since the event began in 1996. “30th anniversary edition” does not mean there have been 30 uninterrupted annual editions. The anniversary programme also reaches beyond clubs, with daytime events, talks and artistic projects. ADE’s announcement confirms the dates, 21–25 October.

Pro Pass, club tickets and ADE Lab: what’s included

The Pro Pass gives access to ADE’s listed professional programme and some events, subject to each venue’s entry rules. It does not guarantee entry to a popular club night. ADE’s FAQ says venues can reach capacity and recommends buying an individual ticket if one particular event is the main reason for your trip. Check the age limit, time, address and resale rules on the promoter’s page too: a policy at one club may not apply elsewhere.

ADE Lab works differently. Its official page says the Pro Pass does not include ADE Lab. Discovery is a free programme at Westergas, Wednesday to Friday, 10:00–18:00; On Track has separate terms. “Free” does not guarantee entry: conditions and capacity can vary. Check the ADE Lab page before heading over.

To work out whether a pass makes sense, first add up the talks you genuinely plan to attend and the covered nights you want to see. Compare that with the price shown when you buy. Prices and tiers change, so no single figure captures the cost of ADE. If a headliner is your priority, secure that ticket before filling out the rest of your schedule.

The line-up announced on 1 September had passed 1,500 confirmed artists, an interim milestone rather than the final list. Names cited by the organiser include Âme, Ben Klock, Dave Clarke, Eric Prydz, HAAi, Hunee, Maceo Plex, Miss Monique, Paul Kalkbrenner and Todd Terry. How to plan five realistic days

Start with your non-negotiables: a talk, club night or performance. Put them on a map before adding anything else. ADE events span the centre, Westergas, Amsterdam-Noord, the Arena area and other neighbourhoods. Two venues that look close on a poster may involve crossing the IJ or changing transport several times. Planning by area cuts detours and leaves room for a longer queue.

Give each day a theme instead of chasing a string of names. An ADE Pro session in the morning, a meal break and an evening event nearby make a more workable plan than three scattered venues. Start later the next day. ADE provides a venue map and practical information; check each journey against the GVB planner and the operator’s live updates.

One example, to adapt to the tickets you actually have: arrive and get your bearings on Wednesday, then add a cultural event if the timing works; on Thursday, pair an industry session or daytime visit with a booked night out; on Friday, ADE Green at Felix Meritis is an option if you’re interested in sustainability in the music industry; keep Saturday to one priority event and decide how you’ll get home in advance; make Sunday lighter and check the clock change. This is a framework, not an official schedule or a promise of availability.

A break can also be a chance to see the city without adding another club night. A guided walk or neighbourhood visit can fill a daytime slot. The Viator tour above is listed at €35 per adult, based on two adults; the API showed at least one available slot on each of the five dates when checked on 27 September 2026. Getting around and home after a night out

At Schiphol, the train station is beneath the arrivals hall. ADE’s practical guide puts the train journey to Amsterdam Centraal at around 20 minutes; check NS for the timetable and engineering work on the day. Trams, metro, buses and ferries can all be useful in the city, but night services do not reach every venue in the same way. Check your route home before going in, especially for an event in Noord or on the outskirts.

For a venue north of the IJ, check the relevant GVB ferry stop and timetable. A central crossing is not a direct ride to the venue. Use the GVB planner to compare options, and keep a backup if the connection or night service does not fit your finish time. You do not have to cycle, and it is not a safe choice after drinking.

One detail to watch this year: overnight from Saturday 24 to Sunday 25 October, clocks go back from 03:00 to 02:00 for the end of daylight saving time. One hour happens twice locally. Check how your ticket displays the time, and do not rely on an old screenshot when working out a train or meeting time.

Energy, hearing and respect for the venues

“Survival” is a headline, not a goal: you do not have to keep going for five nights straight. ADE’s Celebrate Safe guidance recommends knowing your limits, resting, drinking water, protecting your hearing and planning your journey home. Bring suitable earplugs, take breaks away from the speakers and ask staff for help if someone in your group feels unwell. In an emergency in the Netherlands, call 112.

Every venue has its own entry, age, bag and photography rules. Check them before buying and carry ID. Consent and privacy matter on the dance floor too: do not film people without their permission, and follow each venue’s phone policy. ADE’s accessibility page distinguishes its conference venues from third-party events, whose organisers handle access information. Contact the specific venue if you need an adjustment.

Amsterdam’s venues sit among residential neighbourhoods. When you leave, keep cycle lanes clear, follow staff instructions and keep noise down near people’s homes. Online accounts of crowds describe individual experiences, not a representative measure of every night. The sensible approach is to choose events that work together, plan your way home and remember that a ticket or pass is not a promise of unlimited entry.

Accommodation, budget and October weather

There is no single price for ADE: add up accommodation, local tax, transport and tickets. The City of Amsterdam lists a tourist tax of 12.5% of the room price excluding VAT for applicable accommodation. Check at checkout whether it is already included. Room and pass prices change; visitor posts about difficulty finding a place to stay are signals, not a reliable average.

Choose accommodation based on the venue you expect to visit most and the transport actually running after it closes, not just distance on a map. The train from Schiphol to Amsterdam Centraal takes around 20 minutes, but autumn engineering work and timetables can change the journey. For each night, note the exact venue address, the last public transport option and the possible cost of a backup.

October is a changeable time of year: pack layers, a waterproof jacket and shoes suited to getting around.
