The 2026 Trans Musicales run from Wednesday 2 to Sunday 6 December 2026. Paid nights take place at the Parc des Expositions in Bruz, near Rennes, with a three-day pass at €95 at full price. Tickets are on sale on the official site, lestrans.com. A shuttle is announced for Friday, but no timetable is confirmed.

Checked on against the official sources cited (lestrans.com, official ticket office, tourisme-rennes.com, operator SPACE).

The 48th Trans Musicales lasts five days, but not every night is the same. An opening night at the Salle de la Cité, paid nights at the Parc des Expositions on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, free afternoon concerts at the Liberté and an off-site programme in bars around town. This guide separates what was confirmed on the date we checked (18 October 2026) from what still needs checking, and answers the questions you’ll have before buying: when, where, how much, how to get back, where to sleep.

The festival between Rennes and Bruz

2 to 6 December 2026 3-day pass: €95 About 6.6 °C in December Evening concerts in December

The Trans Musicales is a contemporary music festival born in Rennes in 1979, according to Wikipedia. The Trans Musicales association announces 74 artists for the 2026 edition, the 48th. The festival doesn’t have a single venue. The Salle de la Cité hosts the opening night on Wednesday 2 December, the Parc des Expositions de Rennes Aéroport hosts the paid nights, and the Liberté hosts free concerts in the afternoon. Since 2004, according to Wikipedia, the paid nights have been held at the Parc des Expositions.

Highlights

  • Four stages at the Parc des Expositions, including the Greenroom for electronic music.
  • Afternoon concerts at the Liberté, in the middle of the city centre.
  • Tickets from the Bureau des Trans, with no booking fee.
Pixidia tip: on Friday 4 December, the evening window starts at 8 pm according to the Rennes tourist office, but no concert times were published when we checked (18 October 2026). If you arrive in the afternoon and want something before the evening, the card below suggests an outdoor escape game, bookable on all five days from 2 to 6 December. Its start time isn’t published: check it when you book, before you block out the afternoon.

2. Lineup: 74 artists, no day-by-day schedule

An international lineup and some discoveries

74 artists announced 59 on the 4 Parc stages 21 concert venues Lineup presented 17 September

The festival announces 74 artists, 59 of them playing the four stages at the Parc des Expositions, according to the official festival page checked on 18 October 2026. The lineup was presented on Thursday 17 September 2026 at 5:30 pm at the Salle de la Cité, the same day ticket sales opened. The festival programmes contemporary music, with a strong focus on international discoveries and emerging scenes.

For names, the Rennes tourist office lists a partial set in its programme of 30 September 2026: Venn, Tolstoys, Ezezes, Kokoko! Nola!, Rosa Pistola, Brother Wallace, Magi Berlin, Pigeon, Testarudes, Blasslila, ZS and Bella Báguena. The same article shifts the days by one compared with the official ticket office. So no artist is tied to a specific day here: the official programme page is the only reference for a timetable.

On numbers, Wikipedia, a secondary source we couldn’t check with the organiser, cites about 33,000 paid entries for the 2023 edition. No 2026 attendance figure had been published when we checked.

Highlights

  • The Greenroom hosts electronic music at the Parc des Expositions.
  • The « Création des Trans » show at the Aire Libre puts young artists in the spotlight, but its category was sold out when we checked.
  • Free concerts at the Liberté let you discover new names without paying.
Pixidia tip: before you buy a pass, check the artist list on the official page. It’s the only reference for days and stages.

3. Tickets: €95 for the pass, €44 per night, and fees to expect

What one night costs, and what the pass costs

3-day pass: €95 Night: €44 (Friday, Saturday) Opening night: €22 €83 full-price offer ended

The three-day pass, valid from 3 to 5 December at the Parc des Expositions, costs €95 at full price, €83 at reduced rate, €80 with the Carte Curieuse and €40 with Sortir!. The official ticket office lists these prices, checked on 18 October 2026. The €83 full-price offer, valid until 2 October 2026, has ended: full price stays at €95, and the reduced rate stays at €83.

For a single night, a Friday or Saturday ticket costs €44 at full price and €33 reduced. Thursday costs €32, and the opening night at the Salle de la Cité €22. The maths is simple: two nights, Friday and Saturday, come to €88 before fees, while the weekend pass (4 and 5 December) costs €71 at full price. For the three paid nights, Thursday to Saturday, the three-day pass costs €95, against €120 for the nights bought one by one (€32 + €44 + €44).

Highlights

  • The weekend pass (Friday and Saturday) is a better deal than two single nights.
  • The reduced Friday or Saturday ticket is €33, under the conditions listed on the ticket office.
  • For resale, the official ticket office names Reelax Tickets as the only official platform.
Pixidia tip: buy on lestrans.com, from the points of sale the festival lists, or at the Bureau des Trans (Tuesday to Thursday, 11 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 6 pm, 02 99 31 11 88). Avoid unlisted resellers: the official price is the only one you should pay.

Booking fees come on top of the listed price. On lestrans.com they are €0.99 per ticket. From resellers (tourisme-rennes.com, fnac.com and others), at least €2. At the tourist office, about €2, except for Sortir!. On site at the Parc des Expositions, Thursday to Saturday, tickets carry a €4 surcharge. The Bureau des Trans, at 10-12 rue Jean Guy in Rennes, charges no fees: it’s the cheapest point of sale. It’s open Tuesday to Thursday, 11 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 6 pm (02 99 31 11 88). The official page publishes no refund or exchange terms as of the date we checked.

4. Shuttle, taxi and train: what’s confirmed

A shuttle announced for Friday, and nothing else

Shuttle: Friday only Taxi: €25 minimum 20 min in light traffic TER: €19 (to be reconfirmed)

The shuttle is the question people ask most, and the answer is short. The Rennes tourist office announces a shuttle for Friday, leaving from the Esplanade Charles de Gaulle. Timetables, price and operator aren’t published in any of the sources we checked on 18 October 2026. No shuttle is confirmed for the other nights. From the centre, operator SPACE quotes a taxi from about €25 and a twenty-minute ride, with a taxi rank at gate A of the Parc.

For the train, a return TER « festival » ticket at €19 appears in a 2026 fare grid for a Breton station. We couldn’t read the official TER page (access refused when we checked), so treat this fare as something to reconfirm before you leave. The Live Pays de la Loire ticket, at €5 return, is only valid for stations in the Pays de la Loire region. From Paris, third-party timetable sites show a direct TGV of about 1 h 25 to 1 h 30, with no verified fare.

Highlights

  • The taxi is the only option described by operator SPACE for the Parc des Expositions (€25 minimum from the centre, rank at gate A). No shuttle is confirmed outside Friday.
  • The metro (line A) serves the city centre. Its link to the Parc des Expositions hasn’t been verified for 2026.
  • The wheelchair-accessible taxi (PMR) cited by SPACE is Allo Taxi Bruz.
Pixidia tip: don’t plan your return on a shuttle until you’ve confirmed it with the tourist office or the festival. If you can’t confirm one, book a taxi both ways.

5. Where to stay: indicative prices, no festival rate

Facade of a hotel in central Rennes
Photo by Pascal Bernardon on Unsplash

Three areas, three price logics

Budget: about €90 2-star: about €61 1-star: average €65 Areas: €59 to €116

No source publishes an official rate for festival week, and none quantifies how full the hotels get. The figures below are aggregator averages, dated where the date is shown. Momondo gives about €90 for a budget room and €61 for a 2-star. Combien-coute.net gives an average of €65 for a 1-star hotel, with a range of €52 to €98, updated 28 September 2026.

The city centre, around the Liberté, the Salle de la Cité and the bars, is the most convenient if you want to walk between the free concerts and the off-site venues. The Cleunay-Arsenal-Redon area (€59 on average) is the cheapest, and Bréquigny (€116) the most expensive. Saint-Jacques-de-la-Lande and Bruz are close to the Parc des Expositions but on the outskirts, so late nights mean relying on a taxi or the shuttle.

Highlights

  • Staying in the centre saves a taxi fare at the end of a night at the park.
  • The station area lets you reach the trains without a transfer.
  • Prices for hotels near the Parc des Expositions aren’t covered by the sources.
Pixidia tip: book early and compare prices for your exact dates. The averages above say nothing about festival week. To compare options against your route and your nights out, the Pixidia planner can build your stay around your evenings.

6. Weather and access: December in Rennes

Cold and damp, with frequent rain

Average 6.6 °C 73.3 mm of rain 12.3 rainy days Liberté: partial step-free access (2023 listing)

According to Météo-France 1991-2020 normals for the Rennes-Saint-Jacques station, December averages 6.6 °C, with average lows of 3.6 °C and average highs of 9.6 °C. It rains on average 73.3 mm, spread over about 12 days. The official FICHECLIM record is the source for these figures.

On access, the Acceslibre listing for Le Liberté shows accessible parking, a step-free outdoor route at least 90 cm wide, a step-free entrance and adapted toilets. Steps and ramps aren’t documented. The listing isn’t up to date: it was last confirmed on 15 May 2023, and is only 31% complete. The Parc des Expositions listing wasn’t checked.

Highlights

  • Pack a warm, waterproof layer: queues form outside, and the rainfall figures above give the odds.
  • According to Acceslibre, Le Liberté has a step-free entrance and adapted toilets.
  • SPACE mentions a PMR (wheelchair-accessible) taxi you can reach near the Parc des Expositions.
Pixidia tip: for an accessibility question about a specific venue, ask the organiser before you buy. Public listings aren’t up to date.

7. Bars and free concerts: what still needs confirming

Lit-up café terrace on a city-centre street at night

The festival spills into bars and out onto the streets

Bars en Trans since 1996 2026 dates not published Free entry not documented Liberté: afternoons

Bars en Trans is an off-site programme that has existed since 1996, according to Wikipedia. For the 2016 edition, the unidivers.fr site lists 13 venues and 31 performances: that’s historical data and says nothing about 2026. No 2026 dates are published as of our check, and free entry isn’t documented. Don’t plan a night at the bars until it’s confirmed.

Le Liberté, on the Esplanade Général de Gaulle, hosts free afternoon concerts over three days, according to the tourist office article published on 30 September 2026. The official ticket office says the Village ticket desk is set up there from Thursday 3 December, from noon to 8 pm. These free concerts aren’t detailed on the official ticket office, so we only mention them as indicative, to be reconfirmed on the festival programme.

The Salle de la Cité, the festival’s historic venue, hosts the opening night on Wednesday 2 December according to the ticket office. Wikipedia notes it hadn’t hosted nights since 2012: that’s an old period, and the 2026 ticket office is what counts.

Highlights

  • The Liberté concerts take place in the heart of the city centre, on the Esplanade Général de Gaulle.
  • The opening night at €22 is the cheapest ticket for a paid night.
  • The Bureau des Trans, with no booking fee, is the best place to buy a single-night ticket.
Pixidia tip: if free entry matters for your budget, check the Liberté programme before you book a pass. The ticket office doesn’t say whether a night ticket also gets you into the free concerts.

What other guides don’t tell you

These five points are checked against official pages, and they’re missing or wrong in the guides and listings we read.

  • The Parc des Expositions address is in Bruz. The operator SPACE gives « 2 La Haie Gautrais, Bruz ». Many listings only write « Rennes ». SPACE, access to the Parc (checked 18 October 2026).
  • On Friday 4 December, the night runs from 8 pm to 5 am. That’s the window given by the tourist office. No concert times had been published when we checked (18 October 2026). tourisme-rennes.com (checked 18 October 2026).
  • Tickets are on sale. The jds.fr listing, updated 15 October 2026, says tickets will be « announced later ». That’s contradicted by the official ticket office, which is selling them (checked 18 October 2026).
  • The €83 full-price offer has ended. It stopped on 2 October 2026. The three-day pass stays at €95 at full price, and its reduced rate stays at €83 (official ticket office, checked 18 October 2026).
  • Fees depend on where you buy. €0.99 per ticket online on lestrans.com, €4 more per ticket on site at the Parc des Expositions, and no fee at the Bureau des Trans (official ticket office, checked 18 October 2026).
