Eleven tours to Victoria Falls from Livingstone, priced from €27.16 to €162.98 per adult (based on 2 travelers, November and December 2026). The cheapest, the guided tour of the Zimbabwe side, lasts two and a half hours. The most expensive, the Class IV-V rafting trip, lasts six hours. The scenic helicopter flight remains the most reviewed, with 3,939 reviews.
Checked on on the Viator partner API (prices, ratings, availability).
Excursions around Victoria Falls come in very different formats: a guided tour of the Zimbabwe side, a 45-minute helicopter flight, a sunset cruise, Class IV-V rafting, a rhino safari, a show, a dinner on the Zambezi, a bike ride in Livingstone, a canopy tour. We kept here only the excursions you can book on Viator, rated at least 4.7 out of 5 with more than 100 reviews. Seven other products clear that bar but are set aside to avoid duplicate formats (dinner cruise, second helicopter flight, second game drive), overlaps (private visit, combined Zambia-Zimbabwe tour) or the rafting quota (half-day rafting, raft rated 4.98).
The eleven experiences are ranked from highest to lowest rating. Three points matter before you click. First, price: the safari shows a range depending on the day you choose, and the guided tour of the Zimbabwe side remains the most affordable, at €27.16 per adult. Next, the side of the border: eight trips leave from Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe side, three from Livingstone, Zambian side, and the crossing is made on foot across the bridge. Finally, the season: November and December are low-water months, which changes the waterfall as much as the rafting.
This guide does not replace the page of each tour. It gives you a way to sort, before you pay, the formats that matter around the falls.
Why the side of the border changes everything
Victoria Falls drops over the Zambezi River, on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. The site has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1989, according to the Wikipedia article on the falls. For visitors, this shared border is not just a line on a map: it determines where you sleep, where the tour departs from, and which formalities apply when you move from one country to the other.
On the Zambian side, Livingstone is the departure point for three of the eleven tours: the bike ride, the rhino safari and the full-day rafting. On the Zimbabwe side, the town of Victoria Falls hosts the other eight, including the tour of both sides, which crosses the border. An older travel blog (2018-2019) places the falls about ten minutes’ drive from central Livingstone: that is a rough, dated figure, to check before you plan your trip.

The flow follows the rainy season upstream. Wikipedia describes a flood from February to May, with a peak in April, and a minimum flow in November, at about a tenth of the April level. The guides from Wild Horizons and Rhino Africa agree on this pattern without giving the same dates: a peak from March to May for one, low flow from late September to December for the other.
November and December, the window of this selection, fall in the low-water period. The waterfall is less dramatic then, and the spray, dense during the flood, is less noticeable. It is also the period tour operators choose for rafting. Water flow mainly affects rafting and the view, whereas flights and cruises are less sensitive to it.
The conclusion is simple. If you come for the waterfall at full force, aim for April. If you come in November or December, you gain mostly in choice of activities, provided you know the view is more subdued. The departure point is not a minor detail either: the walk across the bridge between the two countries takes about twenty minutes, according to two blogs from 2018 and 2019, Nomadic Backpacker and Turnipseed Travel, for a stretch of about 500 meters. These figures are old, but they give the order of magnitude. Tours that leave from one side are therefore not booked the same way as those that leave from the other.

The 11 tours to book from Livingstone and Victoria Falls

1. Guided tour of the Falls, Zimbabwe side
Who it’s for. Anyone who wants to see the waterfall without giving up the whole day. Two and a half hours, hotel pickup or one of the two listed points, and bottled water is included. What sets it apart. The price: €27.16 per adult on a base of 2, the lowest of the group, for a rating of 4.99 out of 5. That rating rests on only 108 reviews, a modest volume to keep in mind.
Best timing. Early in your trip, so you keep some margin if a transfer or a border crossing shifts your plans.
The trap to avoid. Thinking the price covers everything. The park entrance fee is not included and is paid on top: the FAQ explains this point.
- Hotel pickup or at one of the two listed points
- Park entrance fee extra
- Open 60 days out of 60 in the period checked

2. Cultural bicycle tour in Livingstone, 3 hours
Who it’s for. Anyone who wants to see Livingstone by bike, over half a day. What sets it apart. It is a cultural tour, and pickup is at your hotel or at one of the 35 listed points. With 102 reviews and a rating of 4.99, it matches the best rating of the group, but the volume stays modest. At €45.27 per adult on a base of 2, it is the third cheapest outing on the list.
Best timing. Time slot not checked, to be confirmed at booking.
The trap to avoid. Booking it on the same day as a six-hour rafting trip: fatigue adds up, and the start time is only confirmed after you book. Leave plenty of room.
- Pickup from 35 listed points
- Start time confirmed after booking
- Open 60 days out of 60 in the period checked

3. Game drive and rhino safari
Who it’s for. Anyone who wants to see wildlife in three hours, without spending a full day on safari. It is the Livingstone option closest to the bush, and the title requires a minimum of two people. What sets it apart. The price is a range: €67.91 per adult for the cheapest days of the period, up to €72.43 for the others, on a base of 2. The 224 reviews give a rating of 4.95, and pickup is from one of 49 listed points.
Best timing. Time slot not checked, to be confirmed at booking.
The trap to avoid. Going in expecting to see animals for sure. A game drive is an outdoor outing, and nothing is guaranteed in advance.
- Two people minimum
- Pickup from 49 listed points
- Open 60 days out of 60 in the period checked

4. Show at the Victoria Falls Theatre
Who it’s for. Anyone looking for a short cultural outing that fits into an afternoon. What sets it apart. The meeting point is the Victoria Falls Theatre, on Elephants Walk, Zimbabwe side. With 418 reviews and a rating of 4.95, it is the third most reviewed product in the group, behind the scenic flight and the dinner cruise. At €36.76 per adult on a base of 2, it is the second cheapest outing.
Best timing. Time slot not checked, to be confirmed at booking. Nine days of the period checked are closed: check the date before you block the rest of your plans.
The trap to avoid. Seeing it as an alternative to the waterfall. It is a complement, not a replacement for the view of the falls.
- Meet at the Victoria Falls Theatre
- One hour on site
- Open 51 days out of 60 in the period checked

5. Class IV-V rafting from Victoria Falls
Who it’s for. Anyone comfortable on whitewater who wants a demanding six-hour outing. What sets it apart. It is the most expensive rafting trip on the list, at €162.98 per adult on a base of 2. It leaves from downtown Victoria Falls, behind the Bata buildings, near the Marula café and the Econet offices: that is the point to look up when you organize your transfer. The 269 reviews give a rating of 4.94, and the title announces Class IV-V.
Best timing. November and December, the period checked, fall in the low-water season. One tour operator puts full navigability from early August to early January: ask the operator for the water level of the day.
The trap to avoid. Treating it as a simple holiday activity. The water level determines whether the trip can run, and a cancellation linked to the flow falls to the operator and to the terms of the listing. The minimum age was not checked at the time of writing: read it on the listing before you pay.
- Departure from downtown Victoria Falls
- Six hours of outing
- Minimum age: not checked at the time of writing

6. Full-day rafting from Livingstone
Who it’s for. Anyone who already knows whitewater and wants a full day on the river, departing from Livingstone. What sets it apart. The title promises « all 25 rapids », while the specialist press sources consulted describe 23 rapids in the Batoka Gorge: the route depends on the operator. With 330 reviews and a rating of 4.91, it is the most reviewed of the two rafting trips on the list. At €153.92 per adult on a base of 2, it costs a little less than the rafting from Victoria Falls. Pickup is chosen from 74 listed points.
Best timing. As with the previous rafting trip, the November and December window checked falls in the low-water season. Ask the operator for the water level of the day before you lock in a date.
The trap to avoid. Combining this rafting with another physical activity on the same day. And the minimum age was not checked at the time of writing: read the listing before you book.
- Pickup from 74 listed points
- Six hours, full day
- Open 60 days out of 60 in the period checked

7. Scenic helicopter flight
Who it’s for. Anyone who wants an overview of the falls, with no walking or effort, in a morning. What sets it apart. It is the most reviewed outing in the group, with 3,939 reviews and a rating of 4.89. The title announces a flight of 12 to 13 minutes, for a duration checked at 45 minutes. At €155.73 per adult on a base of 2, it is the second highest price of the eleven, after the Class IV-V rafting.
Best timing. The full waterfall is seen in April, the flood month, according to Wikipedia and the guides consulted. The period checked for this selection covers November and December, when the flow is low: the view is more subdued, and the flight remains open across the 60 days checked.
The trap to avoid. Treating it as a full excursion: it is a view, not a day out. If your budget is tight, the sunset cruise costs €64.81, less than half of this price.
- Pickup from 104 listed points
- 12 to 13 minutes of flight
- Open 60 days out of 60 in the period checked

8. Dinner cruise on the Zambezi
Who it’s for. Anyone who wants to have dinner on the bank of the Zambezi without driving or looking for a restaurant, as a couple or in a group. What sets it apart. With 717 reviews and a rating of 4.80, it is the second most reviewed outing in the group. At €102.17 per adult on a base of 2, it lasts four hours, twice as long as the sunset cruise.
Best timing. Time slot not checked, to be confirmed at booking. The check shows it open 59 days out of 60 in the period.
The trap to avoid. Arriving without having confirmed the pickup time, which is only given after booking. Do not confuse it with the sunset cruise: the duration and the price are different.
- Pickup from 24 listed points
- Meal on board
- Open 59 days out of 60 in the period checked

9. Both sides of the falls: Zimbabwe and Zambia
Who it’s for. Anyone who wants to see the falls from both sides of the border without arranging the crossing formalities alone. What sets it apart. The listing includes assistance with the formalities between Zimbabwe and Zambia, over a day of five to six hours. With 300 reviews and a rating of 4.79, it is among the least rated of the eleven. At €67.91 per adult on a base of 2, it sits in the middle of the list.
Best timing. Time slot not checked, to be confirmed at booking. The walk across the bridge between the two countries, about twenty minutes according to two blogs from 2018 and 2019, is worth keeping in mind for the day.
The trap to avoid. Thinking the day is just one visit. It combines two countries and two checkpoints, which lengthens the time spent at the border. Entry fees on both sides are excluded from the price: see the FAQ.
- Assistance with border formalities
- Entry fees on both sides excluded from the price
- Open 60 days out of 60 in the period checked

10. Sunset cruise
Who it’s for. Anyone who wants a picture of the Zambezi without walking or sweating. What sets it apart. With 194 reviews and a rating of 4.77, it holds a fair place in the list. At €64.81 per adult on a base of 2, it costs less than half of the scenic flight and lasts two hours, against four for the dinner cruise.
Best timing. Sunset, which gives the product its name. The check shows it open 58 days out of 60: verify the two closed days before you block a date.
The trap to avoid. Booking it for a specific day without checking the period. Plan an alternative for the closed dates.
- Pickup from 24 listed points
- Two hours on the river
- Open 58 days out of 60 in the period checked

11. Canopy tour
Who it’s for. Anyone who has already seen the falls and wants an activity at height, shorter than a rafting trip. What sets it apart. A canopy tour of one to two hours, departing from a meeting point named « Chutes Victoria », Zimbabwe side. At €73.34 per adult on a base of 2, it sits in the middle price range. Its rating of 4.76, on 122 reviews, is the lowest on the list.
Best timing. Time slot not checked, to be confirmed at booking. The exact departure point is confirmed by the operator: keep it in mind for your transfer.
The trap to avoid. Taking it for a tour of the falls. It is an activity outing, not a view. Read recent reviews before booking, given the lowest rating on the list.
- Meeting point « Chutes Victoria »
- One to two hours
- Open 60 days out of 60 in the period checked

The bridge and the border. You cross the Victoria Falls Bridge on foot, with Zambian and then Zimbabwean checks. The Zambia Tourism office announces the border post is open 24 hours a day, information to reconfirm with the authorities. Blogs advise against crossing at night, as the trip is long and poorly lit.
The KAZA visa. According to the Zambia Tourism office, the KAZA UniVisa costs USD 50 and the day-tripper visa USD 10 for 2026, payable in US dollars. The official page does not say how long the visa is valid, or whether it covers a single-day excursion: ask immigration or the operator before booking the tour that crosses the border.
When to go. For the full waterfall, aim for April. For rafting, the November and December window checked falls in low water; navigability dates vary between sources (see the FAQ). Ask the operator for the water level of the day, especially if you have booked a rafting trip early in your stay.
Cancellation and booking. Pickup times are confirmed after booking: allow a margin between two outings on the same day, and do not book a return flight before the schedule is confirmed.
Frequently asked questions
Which tour should I choose for a first visit to the falls?
For a first visit, the guided tour of the Zimbabwe side gives the cheapest overview, at €27.16 per adult on a base of 2, in two and a half hours. The choice depends on your budget and on how much effort you want to make.
How much does a tour of the falls cost from Livingstone?
For the period from November 1 to December 30, 2026, the eleven tours in this selection cost from €27.16 to €162.98 per adult, on a base of two travelers. The maximum is the Class IV-V rafting from Victoria Falls, not the helicopter flight, at €155.73. Only the rhino safari shows a range depending on the day, from €67.91 to €72.43. Park entrance fees are not included: the dedicated question below explains why. The figures come from the Viator check of October 18, 2026 and may change.
Do I need a visa to go from the Zambian side to the Zimbabwean side?
According to the Zambia Tourism office, the KAZA UniVisa costs USD 50 and the day-tripper visa USD 10 for 2026, payable in US dollars. The official page does not say how long the visa is valid or whether it covers a single-day excursion: ask immigration or the operator before booking. For a French passport, the rule by nationality was not checked at the time of writing: check the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs page before you leave.
What is the best season to see the falls?
According to Wikipedia, the flood runs from February to May, with a peak in April, and the flow falls in November to about a tenth of its April level. To see the waterfall at full force, aim for April. November and December, the window of this selection, offer a more subdued waterfall, but they are the period tour operators choose for rafting. Dates vary between sources: confirm with the operator.
Can you go rafting in November and December?
Both rafting trips on the list are open across the 60 days checked. One tour operator puts full navigability from early August to early January, and another from June to February. A cancellation linked to the water level falls to the operator and to the terms of the listing. The minimum age was not checked at the time of writing: read it on the listing before you book.
Can you cancel a tour for free?
All eleven tours carry the « free cancellation » mention in the Viator check of October 18, 2026. The standard rule shown is a full refund up to 24 hours before departure, but each listing sets its own terms. For rafting, a cancellation linked to the water level falls to the operator: read the cancellation policy before you pay.
Do the tours include hotel pickup?
In most cases, yes: the listing gives a hotel pickup point or one of a set of listed points, the number varying by tour, from 2 to 104. The time is confirmed after booking, so leave yourself a margin. Three outings have a specific place: the Victoria Falls Theatre for the show, downtown Victoria Falls for the six-hour rafting, and the « Chutes Victoria » meeting point for the canopy tour.
Is the park entrance fee included in the price?
No. The entrance fee is not counted in any of the prices in the comparison, and the guided tour of the Zimbabwe side lists it as an exclusion; for the tour of both sides, the fees of both countries are excluded. On the Zimbabwe side, this is Victoria Falls National Park; on the Zambian side, Mosi-oa-Tunya park (ZAWA). The 2026 amounts differ between sources and offices. Check the day’s rate on the website of the relevant office, and bring cash: a tour operator reports counters that do not accept cards, a point the authorities have not confirmed.
