The 3Tre 2026 takes place on Wednesday 23 December 2026 on the Canalone Miramonti, in Madonna di Campiglio. According to the organiser, the first heat starts at 5:45 pm and the second at 9:00 pm. The public bib draw is held the day before, on 22 December at 6:30 pm, in Piazza Sissi.

Checked on against the official sources cited (3Tre programme and ticketing, Campigliodolomiti).

The 3Tre is not an ordinary ski race. Every year, the men’s World Cup slalom stops at Madonna di Campiglio in the Trentino region of northern Italy, for a race run under floodlights. According to the tourist office, the event has been held at Campiglio since 1957. In 2026 it returns to the December calendar after two editions run in January. This guide answers what most visitors ask before they go: the date and start times, ticket prices, how to get there from Milan, Malpensa or Trento, the rules for driving in the mountains, and what is still unconfirmed. Every figure comes with its source and the date we checked it.

1. The programme for the week: Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 December 2026

Three moments make up the week, and it helps to keep them apart. On Tuesday 22 December, the public bib draw takes place in Piazza Sissi, in the heart of the village, at 6:30 pm. On Wednesday 23, the race runs at night on the Canalone Miramonti, in two heats. The end of the evening has not been published. We estimate it around 10:00 pm, so plan your journey home before you leave the piste area.

The reference schedule is the organiser’s own. For the start of the second heat, the local press in May 2026 gave 8:45 pm, while the official programme says 9:00 pm. Go with 9:00 pm, the time published by the 3Tre itself.

On the sporting side, the date appears on the 2026-27 World Cup calendar as described by the specialist press, which calls that calendar provisional. The FIS race page could not be checked, so treat the date as planned and confirmed by the organiser.

2. Getting to Madonna di Campiglio: from Trento, Malpensa or by car

Getting there without missing the road or the timetable

Trento: about 1 h 30 by bus Malpensa: 3 h 30 by private transfer, 2 h 30 to 3 h by car Snow chains or winter tyres

Madonna di Campiglio sits in the Rendena valley, in the heart of the Brenta Dolomites, at 1,522 metres (4,993 ft). We found no public shuttle from Milan or Malpensa for the 2026-27 season. From Trento, the Trentino Trasporti bus is the simplest option, but its winter timetable had not been published when we checked. Confirm the times on trentinotrasporti.it before you book.

From Malpensa, allow about 3 h 30 by private transfer, a duration quoted by Alps2Alps, or 2 h 30 to 3 h by car according to Milano By Car. Private transfers are quoted between €600 and €1,260 one way depending on the vehicle, and the same provider lists shared seats from €72 per person. By car, take the A22 to Trento Sud or San Michele, then the provincial road towards Pinzolo and Madonna. From Brescia, take the A4 to the Brescia Est exit, then the road to Tione and Pinzolo.

Key takeaways

  • The bus from Trento takes about 1 h 30 according to a timetable aggregator. The 2026-27 times still need to be confirmed.
  • From Malpensa, book a transfer in advance. No public shuttle is listed.
  • By car, snow chains or winter tyres are mandatory (see section 6).
Pixidia tip: arrive the day before if you can. You will be on site for the bib draw on 22 December, and you will not have to drive back after the second heat.

To avoid depending on bus times, a transfer booked in advance is the simplest choice. This card suits anyone arriving on 22 December for the 6:30 pm bib draw, or anyone who needs to reach an airport after the second heat, as long as the product covers that direction of travel. The title does not say which airport is covered, or whether the return is included, so check the product page. This is not a ticket. It has no link to the race and gives no access to the piste or to a grandstand seat. Availability for 22 and 23 December was checked on 25 October 2026.

3. Tickets, hospitality and what to check before you buy

The official 3Tre ticket office offers seats in categories from I (€5) to E (€60), as well as hospitality areas. The safest route is to buy from the organiser’s site. The « Buy now » button leads to the TicketOne sales platform. Service fees are not included in the prices shown, so the exact total only appears at checkout.

Category H, at €50, is not detailed on the page we checked. No official source we read maps the zones precisely: standing at the foot of the piste, grandstand or VIP areas. Do not book a zone based on a guide. Check the exact description at the point of purchase.

Hospitality packages work differently. A Racer Ready article from 19 October 2026 lists the Paddock at €130, the Terrace at €250 and the Lounge at €600, along with extras such as a Warm-up at €200 and a Course Inspection at €350. That text is promotional: it describes the offer and does not compare it with standard seats.

4. The Canalone Miramonti: a piste that drops down to the village

A technical piste, floodlit for the night

The Canalone Miramonti is the piste where the 3Tre is raced. It starts at 1,725 metres (5,659 ft) and finishes at 1,545 metres (5,069 ft), a vertical drop of about 180 metres (roughly 590 ft), according to the tourist office Campigliodolomiti. Its steepest section reaches 60%, or about 31 degrees, with an average gradient of 27%. It was laid out in 1940 by Bruno Detassis, according to Wikipedia.

Sources disagree on the length of the piste: 470 metres in one, 610 metres in another. We therefore give no figure. As for the lighting, a sponsored article from Il Dolomiti published in 2026 announces the ALO3 relighting with 290 LED floodlights and an investment of more than one million euros. Those are the organiser’s communication figures, and should be read as such.

In January 2026, the piste was prepared with an icy surface, with temperatures close to -12 °C (10 °F), according to Racer Ready. For the January 2025 edition, the organiser mentioned about 25,000 cubic metres of snow-making snow.

Pixidia tip: to see the piste up close, you need a seat in a ticket zone. The zone map is not published in the sources we checked. For an overview, ask the tourist office before you go.

5. Race night: bib draw, two heats and atmosphere

Enjoying the evening without being a skier

The bib draw on Tuesday 22 December, at 6:30 pm, is open to the public in Piazza Sissi, in the centre of the village. According to a 2024 account from an organiser, high bib numbers often race in the second heat, so the final standings are decided late in the evening. On race day, the first heat starts at 5:45 pm and the second at 9:00 pm. According to the press, the ceremony that follows presents the Maglia Fulmine to the slalom winner.

Several media outlets mention around 10,000 spectators. That is a rough figure from the local press, with no date or method given, and not an official number. The sources we read do not say whether you can watch the race without a ticket.

  • Dress for a long time outdoors: the race runs at night, in temperatures around or below freezing.
  • Bring a hot snack, because the second heat starts at 9:00 pm.
  • Keep your ticket handy for entry to your chosen zone.
Pixidia tip: parking on the evening of the race is not documented in any source we checked. The official pages mention no traffic restrictions and no evening shuttle. Ask the tourist office before you plan a drive back.

A note for families and children: the Madonna ski bus is free for children born after 30 April 2017 who travel with a paying adult. That fare comes from the 2025-26 season, and the 2026-27 timetable is not published. However, none of the official sources we consulted describes access to the grandstands or any child-friendly areas. Ask the organiser before you book accommodation for the evening.

No source we consulted explains what happens in snow or wind, or whether the race would be postponed or cancelled. Check with the organiser before you travel.

6. Snow chains and winter tyres: the rule to check before you leave

In Italy, the obligation to fit winter equipment to vehicles applies from 15 November 2026, according to the news sites HDmotori and Sky TG24. In Trentino, the obligation is set by an order of the Autonomous Province of Trento, which manages the regional roads. The 2026-27 order was not found when we checked. Trentino only communicates a period, « from November to March ».

Accepted equipment is winter tyres or all-season tyres marked M+S, ideally 3PMSF, or snow chains carried on board. Snow socks are accepted if they meet the UNI EN 16662-1:2020 standard. Four-wheel drive does not exempt you from the obligation.

Pixidia tip: the fines quoted by a secondary source, AutoScout24, range from €87 to €344 outside built-up areas and from €42 to €173 inside them. Check the road signs on the A22 and on the access roads before you set off.

7. Budget: ski pass, accommodation and local shuttles

The Madonna di Campiglio ski area is called Campiglio Dolomiti di Brenta. It is not part of Dolomiti Superski and does not use the same pass. With around 150 km of pistes and 57 lifts, according to Wikipedia, it has its own price list. For the 2026-27 season, an adult day pass ranges from €75 (low season) to €89 (peak dates), with €86 as a reference price still to be confirmed.

Peak dates (5-8 December 2026, 28 December 2026 to 6 January 2027, 7-20 February 2027)€89Money.it

Sources: Money.it, ski passes 2026-2027; Schneehoehen, checked on 25 October 2026. Passes bought online can cost less: check the ski area ticket office.

Accommodation is the least documented item. We found no dated rate for the Christmas 2026 period. A press article from December 2025 describes very high prices for New Year’s Eve, set well in advance. Book early, and compare the neighbouring villages (Pinzolo, Carisolo) if Madonna is full.

The local skibuses have an official fact sheet, but it dates from winter 2025-26: €2 per ride, €10 for the week and €40 for the season, from 6 December 2025 to 6 April 2026. No 2026-27 timetable is published as of our check. Do not plan your evening around these times until they are confirmed.

8. Depending on your plans: three ways to spend the week

The 3Tre does not suit everyone in the same way. Here are three ways to organise the trip, based on the data above.

  • First visit, no car: arrive the day before, book a transfer from Malpensa to Madonna, and attend the bib draw on 22 December before the race the next day.
  • On a tight budget: skip the hospitality packages (€130 to €600) and take a standard seat, from category I (€5) to category A (€40). Check with the official ticket office whether a ski pass is required to access your chosen zone.
  • A ski holiday built around the race: the Campiglio Dolomiti di Brenta area extends towards Pinzolo, and the day pass costs €75 to €89 depending on the dates, with €86 as the reference price to be confirmed.

What other guides don’t tell you

General resort guides often repeat the same information, sometimes out of date. These five points rest on official sources, specialist press or dated sources, each one cited.

  • The date has changed. The 2025 and 2026 editions were both held in January. The race returns on 23 December 2026, an announcement made in May 2026 (Racer Ready, 27 May 2026) (checked on 25 October 2026).
  • The second heat starts at 9:00 pm, not 8:45 pm. The local press in May 2026 repeated 8:45 pm, while the organiser’s official programme says 9:00 pm (checked on 25 October 2026).
  • A 2023 ticket listing is no longer valid. A 2023 TicketOne listing shows « FISI card holder » promotional prices that do not apply in 2026. Use the prices on the official ticket office instead (checked on 25 October 2026).
  • Madonna di Campiglio is not in the Dolomiti Superski area. The ski area is Campiglio Dolomiti di Brenta, with its own pass prices, according to Money.it (checked on 25 October 2026).
  • The official skibus has only a 2025-26 fact sheet. Times and fares quoted without a date are from winter 2025-26. No 2026-27 timetable is published as of the date checked, according to the Campigliodolomiti winter mobility page (checked on 25 October 2026).

How do I get to Madonna di Campiglio from Milan or Malpensa?

We found no public shuttle for the 2026-27 season. From Malpensa, allow about 3 h 30 by private transfer, a duration quoted by Alps2Alps, with fares quoted between €600 and €1,260 one way depending on the vehicle and shared seats from €72 per person. By car, allow 2 h 30 to 3 h for about 200 km (124 miles), according to Milano By Car.

From Trento, what is the simplest option?

The Trentino Trasporti bus links Trento and Madonna di Campiglio, for a journey of about 1 h 30 according to a timetable aggregator. The 2026-27 winter timetable had not been published when we checked: confirm it on trentinotrasporti.it before you book. The FrecciaLink shuttle from Trenitalia is seasonal, ran in summer 2026, and is not confirmed for December.

Do I need winter tyres or snow chains?

The national obligation starts on 15 November 2026, according to news sites. The 2026-27 order from the Autonomous Province of Trento was not found. No. 22 December is the day before the race, when the public bib draw takes place at 6:30 pm. The race was held in January in 2025 and 2026, and it returns on 23 December in 2026. The return was announced in May 2026, according to Racer Ready. Some media still describe the 2026-27 FIS calendar as provisional.

Is Madonna di Campiglio in the Dolomiti Superski area?

No. The Madonna di Campiglio ski area is called Campiglio Dolomiti di Brenta, with its own pass prices. For the 2026-27 season, an adult day pass ranges from €75 (low season) to €89 (peak dates) according to Money.it, with €86 as a reference price still to be confirmed. The pass is therefore not a Dolomiti Superski pass, and you buy it at the Campiglio ski area.
