The 2027 Masters snooker tournament takes place at Alexandra Palace in London, from Sunday 10 to Sunday 17 January 2027, according to the venue’s official page. Doors open at 11:30 am. 2027 ticket prices are not published; in 2026, afternoon band B cost £68 before fees (tickets sold through See Tickets, checked during preliminary research).
Checked on against the official sources cited (Alexandra Palace, snooker.org, gov.uk, World Snooker Tour).
The Masters is one of the oldest invitation tournaments in snooker, and the 2027 edition takes place in the middle of January, in north London. The dates and venue are confirmed by the organiser. What is still missing are the prices, the session times and the player list, and this is exactly where many guides print figures that have not been published.
This article therefore separates what is official from what is not. It explains how to buy without going through a reseller, how to get there, and offers a plan for a weekend that is more than a single session. The information was gathered on 7 November 2026, except for the 2026 precedents, which were checked during preliminary research.
1. The 2027 Masters at a glance

Alexandra Palace, West Hall
The tournament is run by the World Snooker Tour (WST) in the West Hall of Alexandra Palace, a building on a hill in north London. It is unranked: it awards no points in the world rankings. It does count towards the Triple Crown, a category grouping three events, and it sits, according to Wikipedia, as the second leg of the 2026-27 season after the UK Championship. The reigning champion is Kyren Wilson, who beat John Higgins 10-6 in January 2026, according to the WPBSA.
For a spectator, the appeal of the Masters lies in the room: the crowd sits close to the tables, the atmosphere is dense, and players often compare it to the Crucible at the end of the World Championship. That comparison comes from players and journalists, not from a survey of spectators, and should be read as such. No seating plan or hospitality offer had been published as of 7 November 2026, and the view from visitor seats is not documented.
Highlights
- Dates and venue confirmed by the organiser: 10 to 17 January 2027, at Alexandra Palace
- A room close to the tables, with a dense atmosphere that players compare to the Crucible
- A free park open all year, with a terrace offering a sheltered view towards St Paul’s Cathedral
For a first evening in London without a session, a night open-top bus tour with a live guide remains a general option; the ride back from north London needs planning. It has no link with the tournament, and this article gives neither its route nor its price for the Masters dates: check them on the product page.
2. Tickets: what is published and what is not

Buy from the official ticketing site
The World Snooker Tour announced the sale of 2027 tickets on 18 January 2026, under the headline “2027 Johnstone’s Paint Masters Tickets ON SALE NOW”. The “Buy Tickets” button on the official Alexandra Palace page links to wst.tv, and that is where you should buy. The 2027 ticketing page read for this article showed neither prices, nor sessions, nor sales status on 7 November 2026: the price of a seat is therefore not published by the official source.
Third-party sites show ranges for 2027. We do not repeat them: they appear on no official page and could not be cross-checked. The only figures we have come from the 2026 edition, sold through See Tickets. Afternoon band B was £68 (£76.90 including fees), and all-day access was £120 (£134.10 including fees). These are precedents, not 2027 prices. The £68 figure was taken during preliminary research: the See Tickets page could no longer be read on 7 November 2026, it returned an error 403.
In England, Action Fraud, the national reporting centre for fraud, warns that ticket fraud around sport is common and recommends buying only from the promoter, the official box office or an authorised agent. The resale rules of the Crucible, another WST event held in Sheffield, forbid reselling outside official channels. That is a different event: the Masters’ resale policy is not published.

3. Sessions: the expected schedule, to be confirmed
The match order has not been published as of the date of this article. For the 2026 edition, the official Alexandra Palace page announced an afternoon session at 1 pm and an evening session at 7 pm. Third-party sites repeat the same times for 2027, but no official page confirms them. Treat them as a working assumption, to be confirmed on the official ticketing site before any purchase.
The 2026 format is a useful guide. Matches are played as best of 11 frames up to the semi-finals, and the final is best of 19 frames, spread over two sessions. The tournament started on a Sunday and ended on a Sunday. In 2027, the first day of competition would therefore be Sunday 10 January, and the final Sunday 17 January. According to the specialist site Snooker Trips, the semi-finals and the final are the most sought-after sessions, and they were often sold out in 2026. We advise buying early for those days.
A general estimate, unsourced for 2027, puts each session at 3 to 4 hours; the organiser does not publish a duration. Allow a margin before and after the session rather than a tight appointment.
4. Getting to Alexandra Palace: three ways in

Tube, train or bus
The venue describes its access on its Get here page: Wood Green station (Piccadilly line), Alexandra Palace railway station and the W3 bus. From Wood Green station, the site is reached on foot or by the W3 bus. The W3 runs from Finsbury Park and Tottenham towards the Ice Rink or the Palm Court. These are the only routes the venue describes: no journey time is given here, because Tube and bus timetables for January 2027 have not been published.
Alexandra Palace station is served by Great Northern from Moorgate and King’s Cross, with a change at Highbury & Islington. The frequency of this service has not been published for January 2027.
By car, the venue lists two car parks. East Court is open from 5:30 am to 12:30 am outside event days, and Grove from 6 am to 7 pm, according to the official opening times page. On tournament days the times change, so check the notice published for the event. Paddocks open only for some events. Bike racks are installed on site.
From France, Eurostar links Paris with London St Pancras. Eurostar flags a reduced weekend timetable between October and December 2026 because of works near Paris Gare du Nord, with no information published for January 2027. The price of a ticket depends on the date and class chosen: we give no figure here, as we have no verified fare for these dates.
5. Getting in: children, bags, accessibility
The entry rules are the safest part of this guide, because they come from the tournament’s official page. Children under 16 are admitted if accompanied by an adult aged over 21. This age rule, rarely mentioned in guides, changes how a family should plan its visit.
For bags, there is no single rule published for the Masters 2027. The official Alexandra Palace FAQ sets a 30 × 20 × 10 cm bag limit only for concerts in the Grand Hall, and for other events refers to each event’s page. An A4-sized bag circulates on luggage blogs: it was not found on any official page, and we do not repeat it. One thing is certain: bag searches are systematic at the entrance, and refusing a search means being refused entry. Drones are banned without prior permission.
- Accessibility: the venue lists wheelchairs and scooters for loan, as well as disabled parking bays. A dedicated access team works on events. Changing Places toilets are on site: tell the front-of-house team before the event if you need them.
- Payment: according to one research source, the site is entirely cashless, card or phone only. This point was not confirmed on an official page: bring a bank card.
- Animals, photos, phones: no rule is published for the Masters 2027 as of the date of this article.
6. Visiting the UK from France: the ETA
A French citizen needs an electronic travel authorisation (ETA) before travelling to the UK, even for a short visit of a few days. The ETA is required for adults, children and babies, except for British and Irish citizens. It costs £20 according to the UK government website, and the stay is limited to six months at most per visit.
The application is made only on gov.uk, through the “Apply for an Electronic Travel Authorisation” service. The announced processing time is two to three working days, according to service-public.gouv.fr. Copycat sites sell authorisations at higher prices or claim to obtain them in your name: gov.uk warns against them. Several third-party sites still show £16, which does not match the amount given by gov.uk.
7. A weekend in London around the tournament

The palace, the park and the neighbouring areas
Alexandra Park is open all year, day and night. It is the strongest free outing of the weekend: an early arrival can be spent walking there. The terrace south of the main building offers a sheltered view towards St Paul’s Cathedral; the North Downs or the Crystal Palace Transmitter are visible on most days, according to Historic England, which protects the palace. A travel site (Islands) describes it as a viewpoint over London. A classic walk, the Parkland Walk, links Finsbury Park to Alexandra Palace over about 7.5 km.
The Summit, a guided route on the roof of the building at 130 m, leads up to the Angel of Plenty statue. The official page gives neither hours nor an opening date for the winter: book through the dedicated site and check the time slots before you leave. The palace theatre also hosts Sherlock Holmes and the 12 Days of Christmas until 17 January 2027, according to the show listing. Times differ from one source to another: book only through the theatre’s box office.
The neighbourhoods of Muswell Hill and Crouch End, a few minutes away on foot or by bus, offer pubs, restaurants and bistros. Three addresses from the lists we consulted: La Lluna, in Muswell Hill, for Catalan tapas; The Good Reader, a neighbourhood pub in Crouch End; Bistro Aix, on Topsfield Road in Crouch End, for French cooking. Each address was noted without a date: check it before you go, as closing times, opening hours and prices may have changed.
A two-day plan works. On Saturday, arrive in London, settle in, then spend the evening in Muswell Hill or Crouch End. On Sunday, give the morning to the park and the terrace, then head to Alexandra Palace for the afternoon or evening session, depending on the timetable actually published. If you are in London at the start of the year, the New Year’s Day parade is another date: our article on the 1 January 2027 parade, checked on 25 October 2026, lists a parade on Friday 1 January 2027 from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm, between Piccadilly and Parliament Square, with stands opening at 12:00 pm and free standing room.
To round out the stay beyond the tournament, our comparison of the best London tours for 2027 lists, according to its check of 3 November 2026 through the Viator partner API, 11 guided tours bookable on Viator for the period from 17 November 2026 to 15 January 2027, selected for a rating of at least 4.7 and at least 100 reviews. The booking page is the reference for a given date.
8. Indicative budget: what can be priced, and what cannot
The cost of a weekend around the Masters depends on three items. The ticket is the most uncertain: the 2027 price is not published, and only the 2026 precedents serve as a reference. The ETA is the most certain, at £20 per person for a French visitor. Accommodation and meals were not checked for this article: their prices vary too much by date and neighbourhood for a sourced figure to be useful.
| Item | Basis | Status |
|---|---|---|
| One session ticket, 2027 | 2026 precedent: £68 (afternoon band B), fees extra | 2027 price not published |
| All-day ticket | 2026 precedent: £120, fees extra | 2027 price not published |
| ETA, per person (French visitor) | £20, stay of up to six months | Official: gov.uk |
| Alexandra Park | Free access, open all year | Official: opening times page |
| Accommodation, meals, transport | Not checked in this article | Compare when you book |
Source: gov.uk, electronic travel authorisation, checked 7 November 2026; Alexandra Palace opening times, checked 7 November 2026; 2026 precedent checked during preliminary research.
For the ticket, the 2027 price schedule is not published: no price difference between sessions can be quantified here. Compare prices on the official ticketing site as soon as they appear.
9. Depending on your profile: four ways to go
With family
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult aged over 21, and each child who is French needs their own ETA. The park is a good refuge for children between matches. Plan a day without a session outside the tournament, so you do not spend too long sitting down.
As a couple or with fellow fans
For a snooker fan, the choice of session matters. According to Snooker Trips, the semi-finals and the final are the most sought-after sessions, and they were often sold out in 2026: we recommend booking early for those days. For the evening, The Good Reader, a neighbourhood pub in Crouch End, is a lead: address noted without a date, to be checked before you go.
On a tight budget
The budget depends on the ticket and on accommodation. The ticket is the most uncertain cost, since the 2027 price is not published; accommodation was not checked in this article. To keep the bill down, favour the park’s free outings and the terrace, and limit the stay to a single session rather than several days of tournament.
For a first visit to London
If this is your first time in the capital, Alexandra Palace lets you discover north London, around a park open all year. Keep the night bus tour for an evening without a session, not for the evening of the most important session, as explained in section 7.
10. Mistakes to avoid
- Buying from a reseller. Prices are far above the official rate, and resale outside official channels is not guaranteed.
- Trusting a 2027 price posted by a third party. The ranges in circulation do not appear on any official page.
- Working out the ETA with an unofficial fee. The fee given by gov.uk is £20, and sites showing £16 do not reflect it.
- Forgetting the adult escort for children. A child under 16 without an adult aged over 21 cannot enter.
- Packing a bag without checking. No bag rule is published for the Masters 2027, and bag searches are systematic.
- Leaving without checking transport. Timetables are not published for January 2027, and works on the Piccadilly line took place in 2026.
What other guides don’t tell you
The most often copied errors (2027 prices, the £16 ETA, the age rule, opening time, Alexandra Palace station, the bag rule) are detailed with their official source in section 10, “Mistakes to avoid”.
Frequently asked questions
When is the 2027 Masters snooker?
The tournament runs from Sunday 10 to Sunday 17 January 2027 at Alexandra Palace, in London. These dates are published by the venue and confirmed by snooker.org, the reference database for results. The detailed match schedule is not yet published: it will come later from the World Snooker Tour.
How much does a ticket for the 2027 Masters cost?
The 2027 price is not published on the official page as of 7 November 2026. The only figures come from 2026: £68 for afternoon band B, and £120 for all-day access, fees extra. These are not 2027 prices. Third-party ranges could not be cross-checked, so it is best to wait for the official ticketing site.
What time do the sessions start?
In 2026, the afternoon session started at 1 pm and the evening session at 7 pm, according to the venue’s official page. For 2027, the same times circulate on third-party sites, but no official page confirms them. Check them on the official ticketing site before planning your day, and watch for the publication of the match order.
Can you buy a ticket on the resale market?
Seats are listed on resale sites at prices well above the official rate. The listings we consulted are undated, so we do not put figures on them. The Masters’ resale policy is not published, and the Crucible rules, another WST event, forbid resale outside official channels. Action Fraud recommends buying only from the promoter or an authorised agent.
Are children admitted?
Yes, if they are accompanied. According to Alexandra Palace’s official page for 2027, children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult aged over 21. Also check the conditions of the ticket you choose on the ticketing site.
Do French citizens need an authorisation to enter the UK?
Yes. The electronic travel authorisation (ETA) costs £20 per person according to gov.uk, children and babies included. It allows a stay of up to six months per visit, and can only be applied for on gov.uk. Sites that still show £16 do not reflect the official fee.
How do you get to Alexandra Palace from central London?
The Piccadilly line to Wood Green station is one of the access routes described on the venue’s page, with the W3 bus or a walk. Alexandra Palace station, served by Great Northern from Moorgate and King’s Cross, is another option, with a change at Highbury & Islington. Timetables are not published for January 2027: check them when you leave.
Can you park on site?
Yes, within set hours. Outside event days, East Court car park is open from 5:30 am to 12:30 am and Grove car park from 6 am to 7 pm, according to the official opening times page. On tournament days the hours change. Parking charges were not checked for this article.
