The 2026 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix takes place on Sunday 6 December 2026 at Yas Marina Circuit. The official ticket starts at €735.46, with no date given. As of 23 October 2026, no cancellation has been found, but the regional geopolitical risk is real.

Checked on against the cited sources: the official formula1.com page read in full, the others as search extracts.

Abu Dhabi closes the 2026 Formula 1 season, and the decision to go gets made weeks in advance. The world title could still be decided in Austin, Mexico or Abu Dhabi. This page sets out what is confirmed as of 23 October 2026, with the status of each source, and what still needs checking before you pay.

1. The race is on, but not guaranteed

As of 23 October 2026, no cancellation, postponement or relocation of the Abu Dhabi race has been found in the sources we checked. That is not a guarantee: the region is going through a tense period, and foreign travel advice remains in force.

Two statements show how much confidence there is. On 29 July 2026, Stefano Domenicali, Formula 1 president, said the Qatar and Abu Dhabi races were confirmed and already sold out. He also said any decision on the calendar would come in mid-September, according to racingnews365. We found no announcement of a change after that deadline. On 15 October 2026, organiser Ethara said the event was still on track for 6 December, according to The National.

The risk, meanwhile, is documented. The UK Foreign Office (FCDO) keeps its advice for the United Arab Emirates in force, with occasional airspace closures, advice read in extract on 23 October 2026, not read in full. We could not read the French foreign ministry’s advice for this article either: check it before you go.

A fallback plan exists, but it has not been triggered. The press mentions Imola, in Italy, as a backup if the two Gulf races fell through. For you, the useful decision is the purchase: pay for a booking whose cancellation and refund terms suit you, and keep your proof of purchase. The Qatar Grand Prix, which comes before this finale, has its own guide to the Qatar Grand Prix at Lusail.

2. A finale on Yas Island, the last round of the season

After the Singapore Grand Prix, the 2026 championship is at round 17 of 23. Kimi Antonelli leads with 340 points, ahead of George Russell (238), Lewis Hamilton (229), Max Verstappen (221), Charles Leclerc (215) and Lando Norris (201), according to crash.net, standings after Singapore (extract read on 23 October 2026).

The title is not settled. It could be decided in Austin, Mexico or Abu Dhabi, depending on the results of the remaining rounds. To prepare for the races before this one, read the guide to the United States Grand Prix in Austin and the Mexico Grand Prix guide.

The Yas Marina Circuit

Official minimum €735.46 (date not shown) Race: Sunday 6 December Start: 1 pm per the official page, time zone not stated 58 laps

The Yas Marina Circuit, on Yas Island, has hosted the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix since 2009, when the first edition was run at night (The Paddock Magazine, extract read on 23 October 2026). The race covers 58 laps, according to the official event page, read on 23 October 2026. The island also has hotels and several theme parks.

Highlights

  • A three-day programme: free practice on 4 and 5 December, qualifying on Saturday 5, the race on Sunday 6.
  • An afternoon race: 1 pm on the official page, time zone not stated.
  • Yas Island, where the circuit is, is the most direct option for sleeping near the track.
Pixidia tip: leave a margin after the race before any return flight, and don’t plan anything for Sunday evening.

If you arrive early or leave late, a free day can be used for something else. The pass below opens the island’s parks.

3. Tickets: published prices, channel by channel

The official ticket site shows a « from » price of €735.46 (tickets.formula1.com/fr, read on 23 October 2026). The page does not show when that price was captured, or whether service fees are included. Treat it as a published floor, not a guaranteed price.

Resellers show other price ranges, which are not organiser prices. On tickets.gp, the two prices shown for each grandstand are not labelled, so we give the full range. The official minimum (€735.46) is higher than the resellers’ general admission (€529 to €559); the pages we read do not say whether those categories are comparable.

What each ticket includes

General admission gives you access to an open lawn, with no assigned seat. A grandstand gives you an assigned seat with a view of the track, sheltered from sun and rain, according to the tickets.gp FAQ (read on 23 October 2026). All tickets include access to the F1 Fan Zone.

VIP and hospitality areas offer lounges and paddock access. On the f1experiences.com page we read, the listed packages (Starter South, Starter West, Hero West, Skybridge Terrace) carry no price. Reseller Roadtrips, meanwhile, advertises a hospitality price from $13,795 per person sharing (extract, date not stated).

Which ticket for which traveller

  • Tight budget: general admission on Abu Dhabi Hill, €529 to €559 for three days at tickets.gp. You will be on the lawn, with no fixed seat.
  • Comfort and shade: a grandstand, €649 to €769 for three days at tickets.gp. Several categories are marked sold out on the reseller.
  • One day only: the one-day ticket at €357 on Viagogo does not say which day it covers. Check before you pay, as the race is on Sunday.
  • Hospitality: from $13,795 per person sharing at Roadtrips (extract, date not stated). The price does not appear on the official pages we read.

One note on availability: Formula 1 said in July that the race was already sold out, and tickets.gp still listed categories for sale on 23 October, with several entries marked sold out (main grandstand, Marina grandstand, Champions Club). A price checked today may be gone tomorrow.

Concerts and opening night

A press release picked up by Bolsamania, a stock-market news site, names Lewis Capaldi and Zara Larsson for the opening night on Thursday 3 December, according to that release (extract read on 23 October 2026). Another version names Tyla, with no source kept. We name no one beyond that release, as we have not read an official programme.

4. Getting there from Paris: direct flight, airport and circuit

Etihad is the only direct flight we found between Paris and Abu Dhabi. Air France stopped its route at the end of 2024: OneMileAtATime gives an end-of-service date of 27 October 2024. A headline from Aviacionline announces a resumption of Air France flights to Abu Dhabi; we could not verify it, and we have not treated it as fact. According to AviationA2Z, Etihad plans 18 flights a week for winter 2026-2027, with A350-1000 and B787-9 aircraft, according to an article dated 6 October 2026. We found no flight fares for December 2026: do not compare them with August or September prices.

From Abu Dhabi airport

Zayed airport is Etihad’s airport. An unverified estimate puts the drive at about fifteen minutes to Yas Island; the distance was not confirmed on an open source. No taxi or ride-hailing fare for race day is published in our sources. Ask for a quote before you travel, both ways.

From Dubai

Dubai is an option for anyone who would rather not sleep in Abu Dhabi. Unofficial sources, which we could not verify, put the trip at about 1 hour 15 to 1 hour 30 depending on traffic: an estimate to check. On race day, allow extra time. We found no day-trip package from Dubai for 2026.

At the circuit

The entrances used at previous editions (Abu Dhabi Hill, main grandstand) must be reconfirmed for 2026. Ethara says this edition will be bigger than the last, after 339,000 spectators in 2025 according to the organiser (Khaleej Times, extract from 15 October 2026). Get there early, and find your gate the day before.

5. Stay: where to sleep and what to budget

Abu Dhabi, between the corniche and Yas Island

Hotels from $176 a night (July 2026) Race weekend, 4 to 6 December Access from Thursday 3 December (hospitality packages)

Yas Island is the most convenient option for the circuit. The HotelsCombined comparison, updated on 19 July 2026, showed $176 a night for the cheapest hotel on the island. The Radisson Blu Yas Island was listed at $194 and the W Abu Dhabi at $224 (March 2026), based on samples with varying dates. These figures are not race-week rates, and we did not find any.

Where to sleep by profile

  • Yas Island: the shortest trip to the circuit. Book early: the organiser reports rising international sales over recent weeks.
  • Abu Dhabi centre (corniche, Al Maryah Island): quieter, with taxis or ride-hailing to the circuit. We did not find a dated fare.
  • Dubai: workable for a longer stay, but unofficial sources put the daily commute at 1 hour 15 to 1 hour 30, to check.
Pixidia tip: if you want to sleep on the island, book accommodation before tickets, and choose a refundable booking while the race status is not settled.

Packages exist that bundle tickets, nights and transfers. The benchmarks we found are given in their original currency, as exchange rates vary.

Packages are not directly comparable: flights, transfers and tickets vary from one offer to the next. Read what is included, then compare with booking the pieces separately (ticket, hotel, flight).

Rough budget for one person

  • Ticket: from €529 (resale general admission, three days) to €769 (resale grandstand, three days); €357 for one day on Viagogo. The official minimum of €735.46 is published with no date.
  • Flight: not checked for December 2026. Compare on the day you book.
  • Hotel: from $176 a night on a July 2026 sample, outside race week.
  • Yas Island parks: from €122.40 per adult, or €244.80 for two; availability checked for 4, 5 and 6 December.
  • Sights: Louvre Abu Dhabi, 63 or 70 AED depending on the source; Qasr Al Watan, 65 AED. Confirm the prices on the official sites.

If you are only coming for the race, a one-day ticket may be enough, provided it covers Sunday.

6. A possible plan, Thursday to Sunday

  • Thursday 3 December: arrival, and extended access for some hospitality packages, according to f1experiences.com. The detailed programme of events is not published in the sources we read.
  • Friday 4 December: free practice, times to be confirmed on the official programme.
  • Saturday 5 December: free practice, then qualifying announced for 2 pm to 3 pm, no time zone stated.
  • Sunday 6 December: race at 1 pm per the official page, time zone not stated. Scout the exit route the day before.

Depending on your profile

  • Family: children have no confirmed fare (see section 7). Non-race days suit the island’s parks, and staying on Yas Island avoids morning travel.
  • Couple: a grandstand, a stay on Yas Island, and a day at the Louvre Abu Dhabi away from race weekend.
  • Tight budget: general admission, a stay in central Abu Dhabi with a taxi or ride-hailing, and an Etihad flight booked as early as possible.
  • First time: a grandstand to watch the starts, the Fan Zone for the atmosphere, and a visit to Qasr Al Watan before race weekend.

7. What is still uncertain

Several points have no official answer as of publication. Better to know them before you book.

  • Children: no official policy found. A third-party guide mentions free entry for four children aged 12 and under on Friday, with a three-day ticket; another source requires a valid ticket for each child. The free entry for two children that the circuit’s site mentions applies to the 6 Hours of Abu Dhabi, not the race.
  • Accessibility: no official statement found. Contact the circuit before you buy.
  • Formalities: we could not check the visa requirement on the official u.ae portal. One secondary source says a French passport is generally exempt for a short stay; another, unverified, mentions a visa on arrival. Holders of other passports have their own rules, which we did not check. No government source we read confirms health insurance.
  • Tourist tax: our sources cite a 4% tax on the bill, with no confirmation for 2026.
  • Weather: no official climate source read. Secondary sources forecast highs of 24 to 26 °C, unverified.
  • Concerts: programme and artists to be confirmed on the official programme.

What other guides don’t tell you

Four points, each with its source and reading date.

  • The start time is still to be confirmed. The official page gives 1 pm without a time zone (formula1.com, read on 23 October 2026). Confirm the time on the official programme before you plan the day.
  • The official ticket starts at €735.46, with no date shown. Resellers offer general admission at €529, without the categories being presented as comparable (tickets.formula1.com/fr and tickets.gp, read on 23 October 2026).
  • Air France stopped its direct route at the end of 2024. Etihad is the only direct route found, with 18 flights a week for winter 2026-2027 (OneMileAtATime, extract read on 23 October 2026; AviationA2Z, 6 October 2026, extract).
  • A fallback plan exists, but it has not been triggered. The press mentions Imola if the Gulf races fell through (racingnews365, article of 29 July 2026, read on 23 October 2026).

Practical information before you book

These points have no verified answer as of the publication date. They do not replace official sites.

  • Formalities: check the visa requirement on the official u.ae portal before you buy your flight.
  • Insurance: no government source we read confirms a health insurance requirement. For a trip outside Europe, compare the repatriation and cancellation cover anyway.
  • Tourist tax: 4% on the bill is cited in our sources; confirm it before you travel.
  • Dress code: our search did not find the circuit’s dress code. Read the event rules before you go.
  • Alcohol: its sale and consumption are regulated by UAE law. This point is not sourced in our research: check it.
  • Currency: the UAE dirham. Payment habits (cards, cash for taxis) are not sourced here: check on arrival.

Frequently asked questions about the 2026 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Is the 2026 Abu Dhabi GP cancelled?

No, as of 23 October 2026. No cancellation, postponement or relocation has been found in the sources we checked. The race is on Sunday 6 December 2026 at Yas Marina Circuit. The official programme has free practice on 4 and 5 December, qualifying on Saturday 5 and the race on Sunday 6. A one-day ticket is listed at €357 on Viagogo, with no note of the day it covers. Prices vary with the purchase date.

Is there a direct flight from Paris?

Etihad is the only direct route we found, with 18 flights a week for winter 2026-2027, according to AviationA2Z (article of 6 October 2026). Air France stopped its route at the end of 2024. Schedules change from one season to the next: check the flight on the airline’s site before you buy. We found no fares for December 2026.

Is there a shuttle between the airport or Dubai and the circuit?

No official shuttle for 2026 was found. Previous editions announced shuttles from Yas Mall, but nothing confirms it for this year. From Dubai, unofficial sources put the drive at about 1 hour 15 to 1 hour 30, to check; no day package was found. From the airport as from Dubai, a taxi or ride-hailing is the option to plan for, with a quote before you leave.

Where should I stay to be near the circuit?

Yas Island is the closest option. HotelsCombined showed rates from $176 a night in July 2026, based on samples with varying dates, outside race week. Central Abu Dhabi, on the corniche or at Al Maryah Island, is an alternative with taxis or ride-hailing. Book early: the organiser reports rising international sales over recent weeks.

Do children get in free?

There is no official answer as of this page’s date. A third-party guide mentions free entry for four children aged 12 and under on Friday, with a three-day ticket; another source requires a valid ticket for each child. The free entry for two children applies to the 6 Hours of Abu Dhabi, not the Grand Prix. Contact the organiser before you book.

Is the circuit accessible to wheelchair users?

No official accessibility statement was found. Before you buy, contact the circuit and ask which seats and access routes are adapted. One reseller says one of its packages is not wheelchair accessible: check the detail of each ticket.

Do I need a visa to attend the Abu Dhabi GP?

We could not check the visa requirement on the official u.ae portal. A secondary source says a French passport is generally exempt for a short stay; another, unverified, mentions a visa on arrival. Holders of other passports have their own rules, which we did not check. Check on u.ae before you travel. No government source we read confirms mandatory health insurance; travel insurance is still advisable for a trip outside Europe.

What concerts are planned?

Concerts are announced for the opening night on Thursday 3 December, according to a press release picked up by Bolsamania. That release names Lewis Capaldi and Zara Larsson; another version names Tyla, with no source kept. No official list has been checked. Do not book a package on the promise of a concert alone.
