Six Oahu tours can be booked with instant confirmation, between €63.38 and €368.78 for two adults, and €540.56 per vehicle for two travelers on the private tour. Aggregated ratings range from 4.78 to 4.96. On October 18, 2026, the Grand Circle Island tour showed 57 open days out of 60.

Checked on via the Viator partner API (prices, ratings, availability).

Oahu comes down to one question: how many days do you have, and what do you want to do there? One day in Honolulu leaves little room, two weeks let you see it all. In both cases, booking ahead saves you from losing a morning hunting for a spot. We kept six: a full-day excursion, a luau, a food tour, two adventures and a private tour. On the October 18, 2026 check, all of them have slots open between November 1 and December 30, 2026, and an aggregated Viator and TripAdvisor rating between 4.78 and 4.96.

Our filter keeps listings rated 4.7 and up, with at least 100 reviews. Our six picks range from the island tour to a private tour, including a luau, a hike to the summit of Diamond Head, a food tour away from Waikiki and a zipline on the North Shore. The most complete option remains the Grand Circle Island tour, which takes you to Haleiwa and up to Diamond Head in a single day. If you prefer an evening to a day on the road, the luau at Waimea Valley is the one Viator flags as likely to sell out quickly.

For two adults, the island tour costs €181.08 (€90.54 per person), checked on October 18, 2026. The listings also show what they don’t always say: where the group meets, what time the luau starts according to reviews and the season, and what rules apply at Diamond Head if you book directly.

Why Oahu: many visitors, shorter stays

Oahu is the island of Honolulu, Waikiki and the North Shore. According to the preliminary June 2026 report published by DBEDT, the Hawaii state agency that publishes this report, 514,992 visitors came to the island that month, up 0.5% from June 2025. Their spending reached $934.5 million, up 2.1%.

The same report says something else. The average daily population on the island, meaning the number of people present each day, fell to 114,131, compared with 122,314 a year earlier, a drop of 6.7%. DBEDT reads this as a sign of shorter stays. Visitors are still numerous, but they stay for less time.

That explains the shape of this selection. Someone with only two or three days looks for excursions that fit in a single day, with a clear meeting point and booking without friction. The six listings meet this constraint: five last between three and nine hours, the zipline two and a half hours, and all are confirmed instantly.

Oahu splits into two areas that shape the choice. Honolulu and Waikiki, with Ala Moana and Diamond Head, is where several listings include hotel pickup. The North Shore, with Haleiwa, Waimea Valley and Keana Farms, hosts the luau and the zipline. The island tour and the private tour cover both.

For a two- or three-day stay, keep one long day (the island tour, 6.5 or 9 hours) and a half day for Diamond Head (3 hours, tickets and shuttle included). Availability is shown on each listing when you book.

The 6 excursions compared

The table lists the six listings in the order of the list below. Prices are for two adults, per person, except the private tour, which is charged per vehicle. Ratings are aggregated between Viator and TripAdvisor: they are not Viator-only ratings, and they should be read with the number of reviews in parentheses.

1. Grand Circle Island Tour, 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Rating 4.96 (19,785 reviews) 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. €90.54 per person (2 travelers) Instant confirmation

If you only book one excursion to see the island, make it this one. The luxury coach picks you up at your hotel, in Waikiki or at Ala Moana depending on the stop list, and the listing puts the first stop around 7:30 a.m. You choose between two options: a 6.5-hour half-day tour through Dole Plantation and Haleiwa, or a full day of 9 hours that adds the island’s highlights according to the listing, including Diamond Head, Hanauma Bay and the Nuuanu Pali. What sets it apart is the balance between driving and stops: you see the island without driving and without giving up a single stop. Lunch is not included: the snack on board does not replace a meal, so bring something to eat. With 57 days open out of 60 at the October 18 check and free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure, this is one of the most flexible bookings in the selection. Ask the operator for the exact pickup time when you reconfirm.

2. Luau at Waimea Valley: kava, food and show

Rating 4.94 (3,821 reviews) 3 hours €149.40 per person (2 travelers) Instant confirmation

The luau is an evening, and the listing presents it that way: admission to Waimea Valley, a kava ceremony, traditional cooking demonstrations, then the party itself with the fire knife dance and a full Polynesian show. One to three drinks are included depending on the package. According to traveler reviews, the luau runs twice a day, at 12:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.; the 12:30 p.m. slot is reported for June to August only. Check the slot when you book. Transport is not included: you get there on your own, by rental car, taxi or bus. Parking costs at least $2 an hour, and one review puts the drive from Waikiki at about an hour, so plan for it on an evening outing. The site is on the North Shore, in Haleiwa. For dress, keep it simple: casual or aloha style, no swimwear. It is the ideal outing if you want to experience Hawaiian culture without giving up a proper evening.

  • 12:30 p.m. or 5 p.m. slot, to be confirmed

3. Off-the-beaten-path food tour in Honolulu

Rating 4.96 (822 reviews) 3 hours €135.82 per person (2 travelers) Instant confirmation

This food tour has a clear point of view: leave Waikiki and taste what locals actually eat. You make six to eight stops in three hours, with tastings of Filipino, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese and Hawaiian cuisine. The listing mentions chicken adobo, octopus, glazed pork, poke and tropical fruit, which gives an idea of the variety. Private transport is included between stops, so you don’t have to organize getting from one neighborhood to another. It is the right choice if you want a meal built as a whole rather than a string of good addresses. Two things to settle before you pay. The meeting point must be confirmed with the operator before payment. And serious food allergies must be reported in advance. Tips are not included.

4. North Shore zipline at Keana Farms

Rating 4.96 (3,794 reviews) 2.5 hours €184.39 per person (2 travelers) Instant confirmation

The only listing in the selection with no free cancellation shown, the Keana Farms zipline stands out for the activity itself: two and a half hours on site, with a guided course and harness, helmet, gloves and water provided. Parking is free. It suits people who want an activity rather than a beach outing. The meeting point is specific: Keana Farms, on Kamehameha Highway, following the large ZIPLINE NORTH SHORE sign. Pickup from some points is possible as an option. Read the terms before you pay, especially if your stay depends on the weather. Closed-toe shoes are required. The seasonal warning about winter concerns swimming, not this activity.

5. Diamond Head hike, tickets and shuttle included

Rating 4.78 (1,017 reviews) 3 hours €31.69 per person (2 travelers) Instant confirmation

This is the least expensive excursion in the selection and the lowest rated (4.78), but it stays above the 4.7 threshold and answers a real question: reaching the summit crater of Diamond Head without handling tickets yourself. The listing includes park entry, bottled water and the shuttle from your hotel. The DLNR gives 1.5 to 2 hours of walking; the Viator listing counts 3 hours in total, with walking shoes recommended. The hike is not for everyone: the listing advises against it for back or heart problems, and during pregnancy. If you book directly, the rules change. The DLNR requires a reservation for non-residents, with a $5 entry fee per person and a $10 parking fee per vehicle, according to the official page consulted on October 18, 2026. The park opens daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.; for the 4 p.m. slot, entry is no later than 4:30 p.m. The excursion spares you this process, and its price already includes the ticket.

6. Private island tour, up to 8 hours

Rating 4.94 (175 reviews) 8 hours €540.56 per vehicle (price for 2 travelers) Instant confirmation Private tour

The private tour is the only one on the list whose price isn’t divided by person. It is charged per vehicle: the displayed €540.56 covers two travelers in the same vehicle (3 travelers maximum), and the listing gives no per-person price. For another number of travelers, check the price when you book. You set the route with the operator, over eight hours, with hotel pickup from 8:30 a.m. according to the listing. You need to give your hotel address in advance. The vehicle has child or booster seats, and a cooler with ice and water is provided. Lunch and entrance fees are not included. It is the option for 1 to 3 travelers who want their own pace, for a family with young children, or for people who have already done a group tour. Check the price for your exact number of travelers before booking. At the October 18 check, the private tour was open on all 60 days of the window; the slot for your date is confirmed at booking.

Practical tips on the ground

Hotel pickup. Three excursions rely on a pickup: the island tour, the Diamond Head hike and the private tour. For the island tour, the first stop is around 7:30 a.m. and the exact time is confirmed at reconfirmation; for the private tour, pickup starts at 8:30 a.m. according to the listing. Keep your phone on the morning of the trip, and give your exact accommodation address when you book. The private tour requires it in advance.

Sandy beach and clear water in Waikiki early in the morning

Swimming in winter. Ocean Safety Hawaii places the winter season from November to April, with very large waves on the north and west shores. Inexperienced swimmers and surfers should avoid the water in heavy surf. Shaka Guide notes that swimming is dangerous at many North Shore beaches from November to March. Neither the zipline nor the luau is affected, but if a beach is part of your afternoon, follow lifeguard instructions before going in.

What to bring. Closed-toe shoes for the zipline, walking shoes for Diamond Head, a swimsuit and a towel, water and sunscreen. For the luau, casual or aloha attire, no swimwear. The island tour does not include lunch, only a snack: pack something to eat in your bag.

Tips and extras. The food tour does not include tips, so keep a margin on top of the displayed price. For the zipline, the listed inclusions mention no extra fees, but ask the operator about the cost of any add-on before paying. A tourism levy called the Green Fee is announced in Hawaii from 2026; its amount and scope are not confirmed by an official source, so check with the State of Hawaii.

The USS Arizona Memorial. The memorial, at Pearl Harbor, is booked separately from any excursion. Tickets are free and can only be booked on Recreation.gov. There is no same-day distribution anymore; a standby spot may exist, with no guarantee. Reservations open every day at 3 p.m. Hawaii time, 24 hours and 8 weeks in advance. The NPS limits each person to 10 tickets per day, babies and small children included, and each ticket carries a $1 fee that is non-refundable. Arrive at least one hour before the program. A guided excursion does not guarantee this ticket: if the Arizona matters to you, book it yourself.

Three mistakes to avoid. Stacking the island tour, which lasts up to nine hours and leaves around 7:30 a.m., with another outing the same day. Mixing up the luau slots: according to reviews, 12:30 p.m. or 5 p.m., and the 12:30 p.m. slot is only reported for June to August. And forgetting the USS Arizona Memorial ticket: a guided excursion does not guarantee it, and it is booked on Recreation.gov.

Frequently asked questions

Which excursion should you choose for a first visit to Oahu?

The Grand Circle Island tour is the simplest choice. It goes through Haleiwa and Dole Plantation in a half day, or through the island’s highlights in nine hours, and hotel pickup is included. It is rated 4.96 out of 5 across 19,785 aggregated reviews, and it showed 57 open days out of 60 on the October 18 check, for a window from November 1 to December 30, 2026. See the island tour.

Should you book Diamond Head directly or through an excursion?

If you book directly, the DLNR requires a reservation for non-residents, with a $5 entry fee per person and a $10 parking fee per vehicle. The 3-hour excursion, priced at €63.38 for two adults, includes the entry ticket and the shuttle from your hotel, which spares you this process. Also check the listing before booking if you have a back or heart problem. See the hike.

Does the Waimea Valley luau start at noon?

Not necessarily. According to reviews, the luau runs at 12:30 p.m. and 5 p.m., and the 12:30 p.m. slot is only reported for June to August. Check the slot when you book, before paying. The luau is priced at €298.80 for two adults, without transport, and drinks depend on the package you choose. See the luau.

Is the private tour charged per person?

No. The €540.56 price covers two travelers in the same vehicle (3 travelers maximum), and the listing gives no per-person price. For another number of travelers, check the price shown before booking. The tour lasts up to eight hours, with hotel pickup from 8:30 a.m. according to the listing, and lunch is not included. See the private tour.

Which excursions can be booked with free cancellation?

Five of the six excursions show free cancellation: the island tour, the luau, the food tour, the Diamond Head hike and the private tour. The Keana Farms zipline does not show it. Read that listing’s terms before paying, and note the cancellation deadline in your calendar. The terms were checked on October 18, 2026 and may change.

Can you swim on the North Shore in winter?

This is not recommended for inexperienced swimmers. Ocean Safety Hawaii places the winter season from November to April, with strong waves on the north and west shores. Shaka Guide says swimming is dangerous at many North Shore beaches from November to March. If your plans include a beach, follow the lifeguards’ instructions.
