For December 31, 2026, eight Viator experiences are open in Dubai, from €24.52 to €198.92 per adult for two travelers. None guarantees a spot for the midnight countdown, and no official program has been published for that evening. I recommend the desert or the night tour with a Burj Khalifa ticket.
Verified on against the Viator partner API (prices, ratings, availability).
On December 31, Dubai is more than the tower’s fireworks. Eight Viator experiences are open that day, and the night city tour with a tower ticket ranks first, because it combines an evening in the city with a Burj Khalifa ticket.
Why New Year’s Eve in Dubai Revolves Around the Tower, and How to Plan It
Dubai makes December 31 a highly visible night. For the 2025-2026 edition, Gulf News counted 48 firework shows at about forty locations, with the Burj Khalifa at the center and light projections on the tower at midnight. That figure describes the previous edition. It says nothing about the 2026 program, and I will not carry it over into this guide.

For the 2025-2026 edition, documented here, the organization around the city center was heavy. The RTA published a phased closure plan around Downtown, starting at 4 p.m. The Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall metro station can close early if crowds exceed its capacity, and the metro and tram ran non-stop for 43 hours, according to Khaleej Times. No plan for 2026 was published on the date of this review. Check the RTA before you travel, and do not rely on last year’s plan.
What this changes for you: an evening away from the center takes fewer trips, and a program with a fixed start time, such as a dinner or a cruise, fits better than waiting at the foot of the tower. Each product in this selection has a precise meeting point, which matters when part of the center is closed to traffic. When a product includes hotel pickup, that is one trip less to organize on a festive night.
The weather matters too. Historical averages point to days of 20 to 25°C (68 to 77°F) and nights of 15 to 16°C (59 to 61°F), with sunset around 5:30 p.m. at the end of December (WeatherSpark, Dubai-online). In the desert, the temperature drops fast after sunset: pack a light jacket, even if the day was mild.
A note on method. Prices and availability come from the Viator partner API, checked on October 25, 2026 for December 31. They can change, and availability confirmed today does not tell you how many spots remain. I do not use prices shown on third-party sites, and I never quote a « from » price without its exact amount for two travelers.
Finally, opening hours for At The Top, the Burj Khalifa observation deck, differ from one reseller to another, and I did not consult any official site for this guide. Tours that include the ticket assign a time slot at booking: that is when to check the time, not before.

The 8 Experiences to Book for December 31 in Dubai

1. Dubai Night City Tour and Burj Khalifa Ticket
I place this tour first because it is the only one in the selection that combines an evening in the city with a ticket to the tower in one program. The departure is at 7 p.m. according to the listing consulted. The group is semi-private, with a licensed guide and hotel pickup, which spares you looking for a taxi on a festive night. Photo stops include Burj Al Arab and Atlantis. The ticket gives access to the 124th and 125th floors of the tower. It suits anyone who wants to see Dubai lit up from height without building their own itinerary.
- Burj Khalifa entry ticket, 124th and 125th floors
- Licensed guide, semi-private group, hotel pickup
- Water and one soft drink per person, tip not included

2. Private Full-Day Tour With a Burj Khalifa At The Top Ticket
This is the most expensive product in the selection, and I recommend it to a group that wants a day with nothing to organize. The vehicle is air-conditioned, the guide speaks English, and the route mixes the spice and gold souks, Jumeirah Road, the beach, a photo stop at Burj Al Arab, Palm Jumeirah and the marina. The ticket to the top of the tower is included. Departures listed for the 31st run from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for 8 hours: an early start leaves the afternoon free, while a start at 3, 4 or 5 p.m. runs into the evening. Choose your time slot at booking. Lunch and personal expenses are not included, so budget for them separately. The price shown is for two adults and changes with the number of travelers: check the total for your group before you confirm.
- Air-conditioned vehicle and professional English-speaking guide
- Ticket to the top of Burj Khalifa included
- Lunch and personal expenses not included

3. Premium Evening Desert Safari With a Barbecue Dinner
For a December 31 evening far from the city, this is the most balanced product in the selection. A 4×4 picks you up at the hotel, followed by a sunset photo stop on the dunes, a camel ride and sandboarding. The camp then serves a buffet barbecue dinner, with shisha, henna, and tanoura, dance and fire shows. Departures are listed at 2:30 and 3 p.m., with a return around 8:30 to 9 p.m.: you are back in the city before midnight, and the celebration takes place in the camp. The fire show is not the tower’s, and the city’s fireworks cannot be seen from the dunes. Most reviews are on TripAdvisor: 2 are on Viator, and 1,087 on TripAdvisor. Quad biking, buggy rides and tips are not included, and desert operators generally advise against this trip for pregnant women and people with back problems.
- 4×4 pickup and sunset stop
- Buffet barbecue dinner, soft drinks, coffee and water
- Tanoura, dance and fire show at the camp

4. Quad Bike, Camels and Barbecue Dinner at Al Khayma Camp
This product has the most reviews in the selection: 24,938 in total, including 2,389 on Viator and 22,549 on TripAdvisor, for a rating of 4.96. The format is a complete desert outing. You ride a quad freely, helmet provided, through the red dunes, then take a camel ride, get a henna design, and watch a dance and falconry show before a barbecue dinner with dates, coffee and drinks. The listing also mentions stargazing: do not come for an astronomy session. A fire show is planned for the evening, but the listing does not guarantee a slot on the 31st. Dune bashing in a 4×4 and tips are not included. If you are torn between the quad and the safari in card 3, the quad brings more action, while the safari offers a calmer program with a longer dinner.
- Freestyle quad ride in the red dunes, helmet provided
- Camel ride, henna and falconry show
- Barbecue dinner, dates, coffee and drinks

5. Jet Ski to Burj Al Arab
This is a daytime activity: departures listed for the 31st start at 7:30 a.m., and late morning is a good slot. Thirty minutes of jet skiing from Umm Suqeim to the Burj Al Arab, with a certified instructor, safety equipment, and photos and videos taken during the ride and shared at no charge. Meet at the marina’s fishing harbor, at Nemo Watersports, and arrive twenty minutes before departure. The changing room, shower and a 20% discount at Café Lumière are included, but the swimsuit and towel are not. With 2,227 combined reviews, including 115 on Viator and 2,112 on TripAdvisor, this is the shortest outing in the selection. Age rules vary between sources: I cover this in the FAQ, and I suggest you read the age rule shown on the Viator listing when you book.
- Certified instructor and safety equipment
- Photos and videos of the ride shared
- Changing room, shower and Café Lumière discount

6. Dubai to Abu Dhabi: Grand Mosque and Royal Palace
This is the only outing in the selection that leaves Dubai, and it does not fit into an evening. Hotel pickup, then a 9 to 10 hour day covering the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the Qasr Al Watan palace, a photo stop at the Louvre on Saadiyat Island and a pass by the Etihad Towers. Mosque and palace tickets are included. A clean abaya is lent to women for the mosque visit and must be returned on leaving: a practical point, but the rule can change, so check it on the center’s page. Lunch is at your own expense, and luggage is not allowed. For December 31, book it in the morning and keep the evening for the city or the desert. The return to the hotel is included, which spares you driving after a long day.
- Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and Qasr Al Watan palace tickets
- Abaya lent to women, to be returned
- Hotel pickup and return

7. Aladdin Tour: Souks, Creek and Old Dubai
The least expensive product in the selection, and the only one that takes you on foot through old Dubai. The meeting point is the entrance to the Al Seef Heritage Hotel (Bayt 1). Get there by taxi or by metro to Sharaf DG station, then walk. Your local guide takes you across Dubai Creek by abra, a traditional boat, before letting you wander the gold, spice and textile souks. The program includes Arabic coffee, water, and a shawarma or falafel with fresh juice. Entry to the heritage sites and museums on the route is included. Tips are not included. Since everything is on foot, bring good shoes and water, even in December. Departures listed for the 31st run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. depending on the slot: only a departure before 2:30 p.m. ends before sunset, around 5:30 p.m.
- Abra crossing of Dubai Creek by private boat
- Local guide, Arabic coffee and water
- Shawarma or falafel and fresh juice

8. Luxury Superyacht From Dubai Harbour
The superyacht is a way to start the evening without the fatigue of a busy program. It leaves from Dubai Harbour, gate 2, at 1 p.m. or 5 p.m. Depending on the slot, the format is a brunch, an aperitif or a cruise at dusk, with sparkling drinks, a life jacket, swimming, a live DJ and a games area. The view takes in Ain Dubai and Palm Jumeirah. Transport to the port is not included. The 1 p.m. departure ends around 4 p.m., before dark; the 5 p.m. departure ends around 8 p.m., after sunset, which falls around 5:30 p.m. The listing mentions a « Nightfall tour » among its inclusions, without program detail in the review. I place the first departure as a brunch and the second as an aperitif, with a return to shore for the rest of the evening. With 1,522 combined reviews, including 339 on Viator, this is the lowest rating in the selection, but a solid 4.80.
- Live DJ and games area on board
- Swimming, life jacket provided
- Views of Ain Dubai and Palm Jumeirah

The rate checked on October 25, 2026 starts at €88.61 per adult for two travelers, and a higher option at €281.95 per adult is offered on the same time slots. Combined rating 4.92 from 209 reviews.

Getting Around
For the excursions, hotel pickup settles the question of getting there. For the Aladdin tour, the meeting point is the entrance to the Al Seef Heritage Hotel: take a taxi or the metro to Sharaf DG station, then walk. On the evening of the 31st, I leave a wide margin before each departure, since access to the city center can change from one hour to the next. For 2026, no metro schedule was published on the date of this review: the RTA remains the source to check.
Dress Code and Mosque Rules
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque applies strict dress rules, and guides do not agree on abaya rental. The rules repeated by several sources ask women to wear loose, non-transparent clothing, to cover arms and legs, and to wear a headscarf. Men must wear long trousers, without tank tops or T-shirts; some guides tolerate knee-length trousers. Closed shoes are recommended. Non-compliant dress can mean being refused entry. The center publishes a code of conduct titled « Mosque Manners »: I have only read extracts, so check the official page before you go, and if you book the Abu Dhabi day, pack a spare covered outfit.
Alcohol
Travel sources agree on a few rules: the minimum age is 21, drinking takes place in licensed venues and private spaces, and drinking in the street, on the beach or in a park is prohibited. Public drunkenness can lead to a fine. I found no official text on this point, so I do not go into buying procedures: check with your venue. Hotels aimed at a Muslim clientele are often alcohol-free.
Budget
For two adults, the lowest-priced product in the selection is the Aladdin tour, at €49.04 in total. The highest is the private day, at €397.84. In between, the evening safari comes to €147.14 for two, the night tour to €299.74, and the superyacht to €228.90. These totals are those checked on October 25, 2026, excluding tips and personal expenses, which the listings exclude. Add a budget for lunch on the day tours, drinks beyond the package, a taxi where it is not included, and a reserve for tips: almost every listing mentions them as not included.
Clothing, Season and Jacket
For day excursions, bring a cap, water, and shoes you do not mind getting dusty in the dunes or the souks. For the evening, a light jacket is enough: temperatures and sunset are detailed above, in the New Year’s Eve section.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Confusing the two superyacht departures: the 1 p.m. trip ends around 4 p.m., the 5 p.m. trip around 8 p.m., after sunset.
- Booking the jet ski for the evening: it is a daytime activity, with departures listed for the 31st from 7:30 a.m.
- Assuming the quad or the buggy on the evening safari (card 3) is included, or that tips are: the listing excludes them.
- Relying on a Burj Khalifa top-deck time found on a reseller’s site: the slot is fixed at booking, and official hours should be checked on the operator’s site.
Options by Traveler Profile
For a couple who want an evening together, the evening safari or the desert quad ride, then a quiet day the next day. For a small group who want a private day without organizing, the full day with the top-deck ticket is the natural choice. For a first trip to Dubai, the night tour gives an overview of the city, with the tower on top. For anyone who does not want a late night, the superyacht’s 1 p.m. departure leaves the whole evening for dinner in town. The time slot is set at booking: the Burj Khalifa top deck often sells out from November to January, according to one reseller.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there an official New Year’s Eve 2026 program in Dubai?
Not as of the October 25, 2026 review. The sources I found describe the 2025-2026 edition, with 48 firework shows and road closures planned by the RTA. For the 2026 edition, wait for the RTA, the Dubai Media Office or Emaar to publish a program before building your evening around a specific hour. The experiences on this page have confirmed availability for December 31, but none depends on an official program.
Can I see the midnight countdown from one of these experiences?
No. None of the eight listings schedules that moment. The night tour starts at 7 p.m. and lasts about four hours, the desert safari returns around 8:30 to 9 p.m., and the superyacht leaves at 1 p.m. or 5 p.m. For the countdown, look for a separate offer: dinners or viewing cruises from the hotels on the Marina and Palm Jumeirah, sold apart from guided tours (2025-2026 edition, prices not checked). Some guides also list free viewpoints for the previous edition. This guide does not price them, because I have no verified Viator listing for them.
Is a specific outfit required for the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque?
Yes. Women must cover arms and legs with loose, non-transparent clothing and bring a headscarf. Men wear long trousers, without tank tops or T-shirts. The Abu Dhabi day includes an abaya lent to women, to be returned on leaving. The rental rule varies between sources, so check it on the center’s page before you go, since guides do not agree.
Can children go on the jet ski?
The sources do not agree. One operator sets a minimum age of 14, one reseller says 16, and the operator’s listing allows a child aged 5 to 13 to ride as a passenger with an adult. Pregnant women and children under 5 are not admitted on board. Read the age rule shown on the Viator listing at the time of booking, because it is the one that governs your reservation. The details of the jet ski activity are in its card.
Which experience should I choose on a small budget?
The Aladdin tour is the least expensive in the selection, at €24.52 per adult for two travelers, or €49.04 in total. It is done on foot, lasts three hours, and includes a local guide, Arabic coffee and a crossing of Dubai Creek by abra. For an evening, the evening safari at €73.57 per adult is the best compromise between price and content. Prices are those checked on October 25, 2026 for two travelers.
Should I book now?
Yes, that is what I recommend. Availability is confirmed for December 31 for all eight experiences, but prices and spots can change. One reseller reports that access to the Burj Khalifa top deck often sells out from November to January. For fixed-time excursions, pick an early slot. All eight listings show free cancellation. For the night tour, the refund is 100% up to 24 hours before; for the jet ski, there is no refund for a late cancellation or a no-show. Check each listing’s rule before you pay.
