Paris Photo 2026 runs from Thursday 12 to Sunday 15 November 2026 at the Grand Palais, in Paris 8th arrondissement. A public ticket costs €36 on weekdays and €41 at weekends, online only, open 1pm to 8pm (7pm on Sunday). The Wednesday 11 November vernissage, from 2pm, needs a €155 pass.

Checked on against the official sources cited (parisphoto.com, the organiser’s ticketing and programme pages).

Paris Photo opens its 29th edition at the Grand Palais, and the fair week is a good excuse to see more than the stands. Galleries and publishers from 38 countries show prints, books and installations, while several exhibitions open before or during the fair, from the Bourse de commerce to the Jeu de Paume, via the Louvre. This guide covers the dates, the ticket prices we checked on the official ticketing page on 11 October 2026, how to get to the Grand Palais, and a selection of exhibitions whose dates are confirmed by a public source.

The fair in brief

12 to 15 November 2026 €36 to €41 for a public ticket 1pm to 8pm Grand Palais, Paris 8th

Paris Photo is an art fair devoted to photography: you come to look at, and buy, prints, books and installations from galleries and publishers. It is not a museum. The organiser, RX France, gives Thursday 12 to Sunday 15 November 2026 for the 29th edition, under the glass roof of the Grand Palais (« next edition » page on parisphoto.com, checked on 11 October 2026).

What to know

  • Public entry runs Thursday 12 to Saturday 14 November, 1pm to 8pm, then Sunday 15 November, 1pm to 7pm, the last day.
  • Wednesday 11 November is the vernissage, with a €155 pass from 2pm.
  • Tickets are sold online only and cannot be exchanged.
  • Backpacks are not allowed, according to the organiser.
Pixidia tip: buy your ticket online before you leave. Reviews mention a very busy weekend, but no official figure confirms it. If your schedule allows, aim for a Thursday or a Friday, which leaves more room.

Book my photo session

If you come to Paris Photo to take pictures as much as to look at them, this private session puts you in front of the lens. It is not an entry ticket to the fair: the price and the time slots depend on the date and the number of people, so check the Viator listing before you book.

Two details avoid nasty surprises. Tickets are sold online only and cannot be exchanged, and the ticketing customer service answers on +33 1 47 56 64 69. We also found no closing time for the vernissage on the ticketing page, so don’t assume one.

We could not read the full conditions of the Advantage Pass, the Pro pass or the premium passes. Before you buy a pass, check the official ticketing page and see what each one actually gives you access to.

3. The week, day by day

The week doesn’t feel like a regular weekend. The vernissage opens on Wednesday 11 November at 2pm, for pass holders only. The public comes in from Thursday to Sunday, with the same hours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and an earlier close on Sunday. Friday 13 November brings a highlight: the announcement of the winners of the Paris Photo-Aperture photobook prize. Wednesday 11 November is also a public holiday in France, the anniversary of the 1918 Armistice (the same date as Armistice Day in the UK), so check the opening hours of other sites that day too.

4. Getting to the Grand Palais

Metro, RER and the exact address

Champs-Élysées – Clemenceau Avenue Winston-Churchill, 75008

The official address is avenue Winston-Churchill, 75008 Paris. Several listings write « avenue du Général-Eisenhower » with different numbers. Those versions differ from the organiser’s, so use the official address.

Getting there

  • Metro line 1 or line 13, Champs-Élysées – Clemenceau station: the reference stop.
  • Metro line 9, Franklin D. Roosevelt station: the alternative.
  • RER C, Invalides station, then a walk. We have not measured the distance on a map, so check it before you set off.
  • Bus: several lines serve the area. Check them on the RATP journey planner before you leave.
Pixidia tip: keep your bag small, since backpacks are not allowed. The organiser has not confirmed a cloakroom price for 2026, so don’t count on one until you have checked.

The Grand Palais sits in the Champs-Élysées area, on avenue Winston-Churchill. To reach the Louvre or the Bourse de commerce, allow 15 to 25 minutes by metro or on foot from the Grand Palais. We found no official shuttle or bike offer as of our check.

From London, Eurostar runs direct from St Pancras to Paris Gare du Nord in a little over two hours. From Gare du Nord, the RATP journey planner gives you the metro route to the Grand Palais.

5. What you see at the fair

Paris Photo is organised in sectors. The Principal section groups the international galleries, part of which spreads into the nave. Prismes hosts monumental formats and installations, Émergence the young galleries, Éditions / Book the publishers and books, and Digital digital art, curated by Marco de Mutiis. Voices, finally, is entrusted to Zasha Colah and Francesco Zanot. This breakdown comes from the programme published by the organiser (checked on 11 October 2026).

Three highlights stand out. The Pictet Prize installs an exhibition in the nave, with a preview on 11 November and a CHF 100,000 award, according to Pictet’s press release of 30 June 2026. The Paris Photo-Aperture book prize is announced on Friday 13 November. The Elles × Paris Photo tour, which showcases women photographers, was run with the Ministry of Culture in 2025. For 2026 we did not find the curator’s name or confirm the programme, so we don’t cite it.

The fair has reference figures. In 2025 it welcomed 75,000 visitors, 40% of them international, with 43 publishers present (results published 26 November 2025). For 2026 the organiser announces 244 exhibitors in its French press release (197 galleries, 47 publishers, 38 countries). Other versions give between 242 and 246. We therefore use a range, « about 245 exhibitors », rather than an exact figure.

The bicentenary of photography, which runs from 1 September 2026 to 30 September 2027, gives this edition a commemorative frame. It recalls Nicéphore Niépce’s work on View from the Window at Le Gras, dated around 1826–1827. The Ministry of Culture has labelled programmes across France.

6. Exhibitions to see the same week

The trail outside the fair

The Louvre, the Jeu de Paume and the Bourse de commerce open before the fair or during it, so you can stretch the visit over two weeks. When a price was not checked on the venue’s own site, we say so rather than guess.

Warning: the Fondation Cartier exhibition, « Le Temps des récoltes » by Ibrahim Mahama (22 October 2026 to 28 February 2027), is not a photography exhibition. Don’t count it in a photo trail.

To book: Louvre Photo runs on time slots, to book on louvre.fr. The English page we read does not say whether booking is compulsory, so check before you go. For the Musée d’Orsay, the date and price still need checking on musee-orsay.fr, the only source that lists them. The Louvre general ticket is listed at €22 for EEA residents and €32 for everyone else. That means UK visitors pay the €32 rate, since the UK has been outside the EEA since Brexit. Under-18s enter free, according to the page Visit Paris Region relays. The museum is closed on Tuesdays, according to the page Visit Paris Region relays. Reconfirm these prices on louvre.fr before you buy.

At the Bourse de commerce, 2 rue de Viarmes (75001), « Remember Me » brings together masterpieces from the Pinault Collection, including a room devoted to « Le Monde selon Penn », with close to 450 prints. The exhibition runs until 18 January 2027. At the Jeu de Paume, Stan Douglas presents « Parallax » from 20 October 2026 to 10 January 2027.

For a free visit, two options stand out. The Ritz Paris hosts, in its peristyle from 13 to 16 November, a display by students of the Gobelins school, with free entry. PhotoSaintGermain, meanwhile, brings together more than thirty venues on the Left Bank from 5 to 28 November. For night photography, our guide to the Hunter’s Moon 2026 also gives shooting tips.

The Paris Museum Pass does not give access to the fair, which stays a separate paid ticket. It covers the permanent museums, with one entry per site, and costs €85 for 2 days, €105 for 4 days and €125 for 6 days, according to the 2026 prices we checked on 11 October 2026. Temporary exhibitions are generally excluded: check this on the pass website, which we could not read directly. For an evening of museums, see also our guide to the European Museum Night 2026.

7. Budget and route by profile

For a solo visitor who comes on a Thursday, the €36 Weekday ticket is the base. Add lunch and transport. The private photo session is a separate cost, whose price depends on the date and the number of people: no total is given here until you have checked that price for your date. A weekend costs €5 more per person, with the €41 Weekend ticket.

Four profiles, four ways to plan

  • Student or tight budget. The student ticket is €26 with proof of status. Fill the week with the free exhibitions: the Ritz from 13 to 16 November, PhotoSaintGermain from 5 to 28 November.
  • First visit. A Thursday on the Weekday ticket lets you walk through the nave without rushing. Keep Friday for the Bourse de commerce, 15 to 25 minutes from the Grand Palais, or for the Jeu de Paume.
  • Family. Under-18s enter Louvre Photo free, according to the page Visit Paris Region relays. Check on louvre.fr whether the Louvre time slot must be booked in advance: the English page did not say.
  • Enthusiast or professional. The Premium (€255, one person) and Premium Duo (€464, two people) are premium passes. The Pro pass (€195) is for professionals only. The Group Pack at €315 covers ten people.

One budget point: neither the cloakroom nor other extra costs have been confirmed for 2026. Keep a small margin, and don’t assume a cloakroom is free or paid until you have checked. If you stay on, our selection of day trips from Paris lists single-day outings.

What other guides don’t tell you

Guides published before summer 2026 often repeat information that no longer holds. Here are five points we found on the organiser’s and the venues’ pages, with the date we checked them.

  • 11 November is a paid vernissage, not a public day. The Vernissage Pass costs €155 and gives access from 2pm. Source: official ticketing page (checked on 11 October 2026).
  • The official address is avenue Winston-Churchill, 75008. Several listings write « avenue du Général-Eisenhower » with different numbers. Source: organiser’s practical information (checked on 11 October 2026).
  • The 2026 prices are not those of earlier editions. Weekday €36, Weekend €41, Evening €26. A « €32 weekend ticket » cited on a Ritz page does not match the official grid. Source: official ticketing page (checked on 11 October 2026).
  • The 2026 Paris Museum Pass costs €85, €105 or €125. A 2025 brochure still shows €70, €90 and €110. Source: Visit Paris Region (checked on 11 October 2026).
  • The reference station is Champs-Élysées – Clemenceau. One guide still cites Charles-de-Gaulle – Étoile. Source: Paris je t’aime agenda (French-language), which follows the RATP lines (checked on 11 October 2026).
