Yes: according to the press, SkyAlps flies from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Bolzano from Thursday 10 December 2026, twice a week, in about 1 hour 40 minutes. The starting fare is quoted from €130, but the basis hasn’t been confirmed and the airline hasn’t published its timetable yet. Check both before you book your connections.

Checked on against the official sources cited (SkyAlps, Bolzano Airport, GOV.UK).

According to the press, SkyAlps is opening a direct route between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Bolzano from 10 December 2026. The flight takes about 1 hour 40 minutes and gets you to the Dolomites without going through Munich, Milan or Verona. A new route has no track record yet: the airline hasn’t published its timetable, the start date appears in two announcements, and several practical details only show up on third-party sites. This guide separates what the airline or the authorities confirm from what is only announced, then answers the practical questions: fares, baggage, the transfer from the airport, the winter calendar and the paperwork. Flying from London? Section 8 covers the Eurostar option.

1. The Paris-Bolzano route: what is published and what is announced

SkyAlps, a regional airline based in Bolzano, is opening a route between Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Bolzano Airport (BZO) in South Tyrol. The airline’s official route page confirms year-round operation, with a frequency that may vary by season, and a flight time of about 1 hour 40 minutes. It gives neither flight days, nor times, nor a start date.

The rest comes from the press. Specialist outlets describe a Dash 8-Q400, a 76-seat turboprop, flying two days a week, on Thursdays and Sundays. The first day of service is given as 10 December 2026 by most sources, the same week as an airline miles promotion. The specialist publication AeroRoutes gives 13 December instead. Until the airline publishes its schedule, treat 10 December as the working date and reconfirm it when you book.

The end of the season is also uncertain. The press mentions 25 March 2027, « for now », while the official page describes year-round operation. The difference mainly matters for a March trip: book a return flight with some margin.

Timetables are circulating in the press, but the airline hasn’t confirmed them. AeroRoutes publishes a different schedule, which doesn’t match the other outlets. Times can change before tickets go on sale.

Scheduled times for the Paris-Bolzano route, not published by the airline: press and AeroRoutes give two different timetables

Source: Ulysse, AeroRoutes; the SkyAlps official route page publishes no timetable. Checked on 18 October 2026.

If these times hold, a 10:30 am departure from Paris lands in Bolzano at 12:10 pm. The bus to Val Gardena, 60 to 90 minutes (see section 3), would then bring you to Ortisei between 1:25 pm and 2:00 pm. Count four and a half to five hours from your arrival at the Paris airport, with the 90-minute check-in included. This is a rough estimate, since it relies on a timetable the airline hasn’t published.

2. Fares and baggage: three levels of flexibility

SkyAlps’s fares page lists three options: Sky Light, Sky Classic and Sky Flex. The « from €130 » starting price appears on the route page and in the press, but the official page doesn’t say what it covers. Italiavola, the only site that does, quotes it as a one-way fare. For your budget, check the basis on the airline’s website before you work out a return trip.

The cheapest fare includes no changes and no refunds. The table below sums up what each option includes and what you can change or get back.

The 55 × 40 × 23 cm cabin bag, up to 8 kg, is included on all three fares, along with a personal item of 40 × 30 × 20 cm. The 15 kg hold bag, whose dimensions must not exceed 158 cm combined, is only available on Classic and Flex. Beyond the allowance, the official page lists a surcharge of €33 for 1 to 5 kg extra and €44 for 6 to 17 kg extra.

Sports equipment (skis, snowboard) costs €55 according to the airline’s page, which doesn’t say whether that’s per item or per direction. Ask before you book if you travel with two pairs. Check-in must be completed 90 minutes before departure.

3. From Bolzano Airport to the valleys

Bolzano, about 6 km from the airport

Airport: about 6 km from the centre Bus 10A or 10B: about every 15 min Val Gardena: 40 km Bus to the valley: 60 to 90 min

Bolzano Airport is a small site, about six kilometres from the city centre. According to its official website, urban buses 10A and 10B reach the station roughly every fifteen minutes, from a stop 600 metres away on foot. From the station, a taxi gets you to the centre in about fifteen minutes.

Highlights

  • A simple city journey: bus 10A links the airport to the bus station, so no private transfer is needed.
  • One connection for Val Gardena: bus 10A, then line 350.
  • A private transfer is still possible, about 39 minutes for 43 km according to one operator, price on request.

For Val Gardena, take line 350 from Bolzano to the valley in 60 to 90 minutes, via Waidbruck. The valley is 40 km from the airport according to the local tourist office. Without a rental car, this is the option that needs the most planning.

If you rent a car, a few points weren’t checked for this article: the rental firms at Bolzano Airport and their 2026 prices, the rules on winter tyres and snow chains, and the limited traffic zones (ZTL) in the city centre. Check with the rental company and local authorities before you leave.

Pixidia tip: the line 350 timetable published by the Val Gardena tourist office only covers the season until 12 December 2026. Before you travel, check the winter timetable: this is the leg most exposed to a schedule change.

If you arrive without a rental car, the private day tour by car along the Great Dolomites Road is worth comparing with the mountain buses. It suits you if you don’t want to depend on bus times for a day in the valleys. What sets it apart is the private format, not a bus journey. The catch: the pick-up point and duration aren’t covered here, so check them on the listing before you book.

For the Alpe di Siusi, line 170 leaves from Bolzano, passes through Fiè and Siusi, and takes 30 to 50 minutes. Buses run about every thirty minutes. The trip is simpler than the Val Gardena one, since no connection is announced. For guests of participating accommodation, the Guest Pass covers line 170 but not the local lines 10 and 11 on the Alpe di Siusi.

4. Dolomites in winter: which lifts are open when you arrive?

Val Gardena and Alpe di Siusi: skiing from early December

Dolomiti Superski opens: 28 November 2026 Lifts: from 4 December Season ends: 4 April 2027

Dolomiti Superski opens on 28 November 2026, according to the announcement Dolomiti.it published on 6 October 2026. On Val Gardena and the Alpe di Siusi, the lifts run from 4 December 2026 to 4 April 2027. The Alpe di Siusi cable car is announced from 5 December 2026 to 4 April 2027, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, according to the resort’s page. Its press release mentions 4 December: if the cable car matters for your first day, plan for the 5th.

Highlights

  • The lifts in Val Gardena and the Alpe di Siusi open on 4 December, six days before the first announced flight on 10 December.
  • Line 170 links Bolzano to the Alpe di Siusi by bus, no car needed.
  • Snow isn’t guaranteed: no official snow depth has been recorded for the period.
Pixidia tip: 2026/27 ski pass prices aren’t included here, because they weren’t checked against the official price list. See the Dolomiti Superski site before you buy. For sports equipment on board, budget €55 according to the airline’s page, which doesn’t say whether that’s per item or per direction.

The press presents the route mainly as a gateway to the ski slopes.

5. Bolzano Christmas market: from late November

Christkindlmarkt: 26 November to 6 January

Opens: 26 November 2026, 5:00 pm Closes: 6 January 2027 Closed on 25 December

The market sets up in Bolzano’s city centre. The regional tourist office announces its opening on 26 November 2026 at 5:00 pm and its closing on 6 January 2027. Some guides give 27 November as the start: go with the regional date. The opening hours are less clear, since the text of the page says 10:00 am to 7:00 pm while its calendar says 10:00 am to 10:30 pm. On 31 December and 1 January, the hours are reduced.

Highlights

  • Easy access from the airport: bus 10A to the station, then a taxi to the centre (about 15 minutes).
  • The market opens on 26 November, two weeks before the first announced flight, and stays open until 6 January 2027.
  • Closed on 25 December: plan your visit for another day of the festive period.
Pixidia tip: the Thursday flight would land around noon on the press timetable (12:10 pm), but AeroRoutes gives another schedule, with arrival at 10:35 am. Confirm the time before you plan your morning. Keep the afternoon for the market and book the evenings first.

To compare Bolzano with Merano, Trento or Bressanone, our guide to Christmas markets in Italy for 2026 covers the dates and typical weekends.

6. The winter 2026-2027 calendar at a glance

The main interest of the route is its timing: the announced first flight comes a few days after the valley lifts open (4 December), while the Christmas market opens on 26 November. The table lists the announced dates and where each one comes from. When the airline publishes nothing, the table says so.

7. Paperwork and rights: passports and compensation

British passport holders need a passport to enter Italy, which is part of the Schengen area. The passport must have been issued less than 10 years before your arrival and be valid for at least 3 months after you leave the Schengen area. You can stay up to 90 days in any 180-day period, and time already spent elsewhere in Schengen in the previous 180 days counts towards that limit. The EU’s Entry/Exit System (EES) is now being rolled out across the Schengen area: you may be asked to register your fingerprints and a photo, which costs nothing. These rules come from the GOV.UK Italy travel advice, checked on 18 October 2026.

When a flight reaches its final destination at least three hours late, EU Regulation 261/2004 provides, in principle, a fixed compensation, unless extraordinary circumstances apply. For a flight of 1,500 km or less, the amount is €250, according to the EU’s Your Europe portal. The distance of this route hasn’t been checked for this article, and it decides which amount applies. A reform of the regulation is under discussion, but it isn’t in force on the date of this page, so its possible new thresholds don’t apply today.

EU rules apply to this flight because it departs from Paris, an EU airport, whatever your nationality. Compensation doesn’t depend on the fare, though this needs to be confirmed with the airline. Note that the airline offers no changes or refunds on Light: if something goes wrong, the EU regulation is the framework to know.

8. Getting to Paris CDG: from London and other options

If you’re starting from London, the simplest route is the Eurostar from St Pancras to Paris Gare du Nord, a journey of about two hours and a quarter. From Gare du Nord, the RER B reaches CDG in about 35 minutes, according to the airline’s page, so leave yourself a comfortable connection before your 90-minute check-in.

Source: Eurostar, London to Paris (journey time as stated on the route page, checked on 18 October 2026; check the live timetable before you book).

From Paris itself, the most direct route is the RER B. The airline’s page gives about 35 minutes from Gare du Nord. The Île-de-France airport ticket costs €14 full fare and €7 reduced in 2026, according to practical travel sites. We couldn’t open the official Île-de-France Mobilités page directly, so check it before you travel.

The RoissyBus disappeared on 1 March 2026, replaced by line 9517 according to the press. The airline doesn’t say which CDG terminal it uses either: check it on your booking and allow extra time if it isn’t the terminal you know.

Without a plane, the train from Paris to Bolzano takes about 10 to 14 hours according to rail comparison sites, with at least one change, and no direct timetable has been found. Our night train vs plane comparison for Italy sets out the times and costs side by side. Other ways into Bolzano go through Verona, Venice, Milan or Munich, with a land connection to arrange.

9. Budget: what can be calculated and what has to be asked

The budget breaks down into a few sourced items and others you need to ask about on site or on the carrier’s website. Here is the list, item by item.

  • Starting fare: from €130; Italiavola quotes it as a one-way fare, and the official page doesn’t say what it covers.
  • 8 kg cabin bag and personal item: included on all fares.
  • 15 kg hold bag: included on Classic and Flex; surcharge of €33 or €44 beyond the allowance.
  • Sports equipment: €55, billing unit to be confirmed.
  • RER B airport ticket: €14 full fare, €7 reduced (2026 fare, as relayed online).
  • Bus to the valley: fare not checked for this article; ask the bus operator before you travel.
  • Private transfer: on quote, fare not checked.
  • Ski passes: not priced here, as they weren’t checked against the official list.

The starting fare has no basis confirmed by the airline. For a return trip, check two fares on its website, and keep in mind the cost of the hold bag, which changes the total a lot.

10. A possible plan for a December weekend

Before you leave. Check the first-flight date and timetable published by the airline, the winter timetable for line 350, and your passport. Be at the airport 90 minutes before departure.

On arrival in Bolzano. Take bus 10A to the station, about 15 minutes, or a taxi from the station. Drop your bags before heading to the market.

The first evening. Bolzano’s Christmas market, late afternoon if the day’s hours allow it. Check the programme before you go.

The next day. The private tour of the Great Dolomites Road leaves from Bolzano. Check its duration and pick-up point on the listing. It spares you the mountain bus schedules.

The return. Get back to the airport on bus 10A or by taxi. Leave a good margin for the 90-minute check-in.

11. Which fare for which traveller?

  • Skiers with equipment: Classic or Flex, to compare with the €55 sports supplement. Flex combines a 15 kg hold bag, a free change apart from the fare difference, and a refund reduced by €70 per passenger and flight.
  • Families: Flex, because date changes stay possible for the fare difference alone. The press mentions child fares without giving a figure: check them on the airline’s site.
  • Tight budget: Light, with the cabin bag only. This fare only suits fixed dates, since it offers neither changes nor refunds.
  • First time in the Dolomites: use Bolzano as your base. Valley signs are trilingual: Urtijëi / St. Ulrich / Ortisei, Sëlva / Wolkenstein / Selva Gardena, S. Crestina / St. Christina / Santa Cristina. Ladin, German and Italian all appear on the entrance signs.

12. Mistakes to avoid

  • Booking before confirming the date. Sources give either 10 or 13 December for the first flight.
  • Choosing Light while planning to bring skis. That fare has no hold bag, and sports equipment is charged separately at €55.
  • Planning the valley transfer without checking the winter timetable. The page consulted only covers line 350 until 12 December 2026.
  • Counting on the market being open at any hour. Hours vary between sources, and the market is closed on 25 December.
  • Ignoring the rules of your fare. Light offers no changes or refunds, according to the fares page: read the rule before you book.

What other guides don’t tell you

Press coverage of the route focuses on the date and the starting fare. Here are five points: four taken from official or regional pages, and one from the press.

  • Sports equipment costs €55 on SkyAlps. The baggage page gives this amount without saying whether it applies per item or per direction (SkyAlps, baggage, checked on 18 October 2026).
  • Change and refund rules depend on the fare. Light allows neither. Classic allows changes for €80 per passenger plus the fare difference, with no refund. Flex refunds the fare minus €70 per passenger and flight (SkyAlps, fares, checked on 18 October 2026).
  • From the airport to Val Gardena, you need two buses. Bus 10A reaches Bolzano’s bus station in about fifteen minutes, then line 350 runs to the valley in 60 to 90 minutes. On the page consulted, its timetable stops on 12 December 2026 (Val Gardena, air transport, checked on 18 October 2026).
  • The Alpe di Siusi is reached by bus 170, and its winter cable car is announced from 5 December. Line 170 links Bolzano in 30 to 50 minutes, about every 30 minutes. The cable car runs from 5 December 2026 to 4 April 2027, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm (Seiser Alm, checked on 18 October 2026).
  • The free transport offered to guests doesn’t cover everything. According to the press in March 2026, the Guest Pass excludes long-distance trains and seasonal shuttles (Avvenire, checked on 18 October 2026). The 2026 price of the card hasn’t been checked.

Frequently asked questions about the Paris-Bolzano flight

When does the first Paris-Bolzano flight leave?

The press gives Thursday 10 December 2026, the date most articles use and one an airline miles promotion also cites. The specialist outlet AeroRoutes gives 13 December. The official page gives no start date. The safest move is to confirm the date on SkyAlps’s site before you book your accommodation.

Which days and times does this flight run?

The press lists two flights a week, on Thursdays and Sundays: 10:30 am from Paris, landing at 12:10 pm; 3:35 pm from Bolzano, landing at 5:15 pm. AeroRoutes, an unofficial source, gives conflicting slots: 8:55 am from Paris, landing at 10:35 am; 6:15 am from Bolzano, landing at 7:55 am. No timetable has been published by the airline, so don’t build tight connections around these times.

How much does a SkyAlps Paris-Bolzano flight cost?

The starting fare is from €130, according to the press and the route page. Italiavola quotes it as a one-way fare; the official page doesn’t say what it covers. Light is the cheapest but has no hold bag, no changes and no refund. Classic and Flex add a 15 kg hold bag. For a return trip, add up two fares chosen on the airline’s site.

What baggage is included in the fare?

A cabin bag of 55 × 40 × 23 cm, up to 8 kg, is included on every fare, plus a personal item of 40 × 30 × 20 cm. A 15 kg hold bag is included on Classic and Flex. Beyond the allowance, the airline charges €33 for 1 to 5 kg extra and €44 for 6 to 17 kg extra. Sports equipment costs €55 according to the airline’s page, which doesn’t say whether that’s per item or per direction.

How do I get from Bolzano Airport to Val Gardena?

Take bus 10A to Bolzano’s bus station, about 15 minutes, then line 350 to the valley, in 60 to 90 minutes according to the Val Gardena tourist office. A private transfer, about 39 minutes for 43 km, is an indicative option whose price we didn’t check. Check the winter timetable for line 350 before you leave.

Do I need a passport to go to Italy from the UK?

Yes. You need a passport issued less than 10 years before your arrival, and valid for at least 3 months after you leave the Schengen area. You can stay up to 90 days in any 180-day period. The EU’s Entry/Exit System may also ask you to register your fingerprints and a photo at the border. Source: GOV.UK Italy travel advice, checked on 18 October 2026.

Am I entitled to compensation if my flight is late?

Yes, in principle, if the flight reaches its final destination at least three hours late, unless extraordinary circumstances apply. For a flight of 1,500 km or less, the amount is €250 under EU Regulation 261/2004. The distance of this route hasn’t been checked here. A reform is under discussion but not in force on the date of this page. EU rules apply because the flight departs from Paris, whatever your nationality.

Is the Bolzano Christmas market open during the first flights?

Yes. The market opens on 26 November 2026 at 5:00 pm and closes on 6 January 2027. It is closed on 25 December. Hours vary between sources: 10:00 am to 7:00 pm in the text of the regional page, and 10:00 am to 10:30 pm on its calendar. Check the day’s programme before you go.

Can I take the train to Bolzano instead of flying?

Yes, but the journey is long. Rail comparison sites give about 10 to 14 hours depending on the route, with at least one change. No direct timetable has been found for Paris to Bolzano. The train makes more sense if you’re travelling as a group or if your flight date isn’t confirmed yet.
