The 2026-2027 World Darts Championship runs from 11 December 2026 to 3 January 2027 at Alexandra Palace in London. The ballot for tickets closed on 14 September 2026. The official price for the first round, published on 8 August 2026, starts at £55 in the stands.
Checked on against the official sources cited (the organiser’s page at Alexandra Palace, price grid published 8 August 2026).
The World Darts Championship 2026-2027 is changing how fans get in. The tournament is held at Alexandra Palace, in north London, and for the first time in the Great Hall. Tickets are no longer on open sale: a ballot replaced the general sale, and applications closed on 14 September 2026.
This guide covers the dates, official prices, resale and the journey from Paris. The information is as of 21 October 2026, and anything we could not confirm is marked as such.
Alexandra Palace, the venue
The Great Hall, a new room for 2026-2027
Alexandra Palace, known as « Ally Pally », is a leisure palace in north London. According to a December 2025 announcement reported by DartsNews (extract), the tournament stays at this venue until at least 2031, with a larger capacity thanks to the Great Hall.
Dates, rounds and schedule
The 2026-2027 edition runs from Friday 11 December 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027. The price grid published by DartsNews on 8 August 2026 gives the breakdown by round: the first round lasts nine days, sessions resume on 20 December with the last 64, then on 27 December with the last 32, and the tournament concentrates on its final days.
The 2025-2026 edition is already over: the information in this article covers 2026-2027 only.

Source: DartsNews, grid published 8 August 2026, cross-checked with the official tournament page, checked 21 October 2026.
The 29 December appears under two rounds, last 32 and last 16. No session appears between 24 and 26 December: confirm this on the official calendar before you travel.
Session times
No session time is published on the date we checked: the official page only gives doors opening at 7 pm.
Bank holidays to plan around
Boxing Day (26 December) falls on a Saturday; its substitute day is to be confirmed on gov.uk. 1 January 2027, a Friday and New Year’s Day, is also the quarter-final day. Transport timetables for these days are not published for 2026-2027: do not rely on any third-party site.
Tickets: the ballot replaced the general sale
For 2026-2027 there was no general sale: fans applied in two windows in September 2026, and results were sent by email. If you were not drawn, you can no longer apply. The only official route to a ticket is resale between fans on See Tickets Fan-to-Fan.
Ballot dates and rules
- PDCTV Annual members: applications from 1 to 7 September 2026, now closed.
- General public: applications from 8 to 14 September 2026, now closed.
- Results: sent by email between 21 and 25 September 2026, to winners and losers alike.
- Quantities: one application per person, up to two sessions of your choice, six tickets maximum per session, so twelve in total according to DartsNews.
- Payment: a bank card is required and only charged if you win. An application cannot be changed or cancelled once sent.
Source: official tournament page, checked 21 October 2026; total of twelve tickets according to DartsNews, checked 21 October 2026.
Accessible seats and returned tickets
Accessible tickets are included in the ballot, with a free companion ticket available on proof of need, to be stated in the application. The accessibility page at Alexandra Palace details the proofs required, which we could not read in full. No returned tickets have been announced for 2026-2027.
Official prices by round
The organiser published its price grid on 8 August 2026, picked up by DartsNews. These are original prices, not resale prices. Amounts are in pounds sterling. Multiple amounts correspond to several sessions within the same round.

To convert to euros, use the day’s rate when you buy. The exact content of a lounge or table (meal, drinks, seating) is not published on the pages we checked: ask the organiser before you buy.
Resale: the official route and the risks
Two markets exist. The first is official: See Tickets Fan-to-Fan is the only resale the organiser authorises. The second is made up of independent sites, such as StubHub, Gigsberg or Stereoboard, which show prices well above face value: £144.82 at StubHub and £473.26 at Gigsberg for the Friday 11 December session. These figures are undated: they are orders of magnitude, not prices.
| Option | Status | Price checked | Date checked |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ballot | Closed since 14 September 2026 | Official price, only charged if you win | Results sent between 21 and 25 September 2026 |
| Official resale, See Tickets Fan-to-Fan | Only resale authorised by the organiser | Not checked at the time of reading | 21 October 2026 |
| Independent resale, StubHub or Gigsberg | Unofficial, risk of fraud or cancellation | £144.82 to £473.26 for 11 December | Unknown |
| Agency package, A-Mardi | Commercial offer, 28 to 30 December 2026 | €990 per person, with two nights and Eurostar | 21 October 2026 |
Sources: official tournament page for the status of the official options; A-Mardi for the package; undated resale price extracts for the independent line. Checked 21 October 2026.
Cancelled tickets, fraud and inflated prices are real risks. We do not recommend any independent resale site and do not link to them. For an extra ticket, use the official platform.
Agency packages
The A-Mardi package, at €990 per person for the stay from 28 to 30 December 2026, is commercial: the page does not specify the ticket category, the hotel or the cancellation terms. Some agencies call themselves « official partners »: ask for proof of that status before you pay.
Paris to London: Eurostar or flight
The train is the simplest option. Eurostar links Paris Gare du Nord to London St Pancras in just over two hours. Fares vary a lot by date, and Eurostar’s official fare pages could not be read when we checked.
Some deal sites report a one-off offer from €44 on specific dates, the latest mentioned being 14 December 2026. Sources disagree on whether it is one-way or return. Only use this price after checking eurostar.com for your exact travel date. For luggage, an extract from the Eurostar page indicates two bags with the Standard fare.
For flying, the easyJet route between Paris-CDG and London Stansted, launched in March 2026, was seasonal: it covered 5 March to 16 October 2026. Stansted is about 56 km from central London. No dated flight price for December 2026 has been found.
Getting to Alexandra Palace from central London
Four options work from the centre, according to the venue’s access page. The direct train is the simplest if you are staying near King’s Cross or Moorgate. The Tube and bus is more flexible, but involves a change.
| Option | Route | Strength | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Direct train | Great Northern from King’s Cross or Moorgate, to Alexandra Palace station | No change needed | Frequency to check for December evenings |
| Tube then bus | Piccadilly line to Wood Green, then the W3 bus | Frequent Tube service | A change, and the bus can be busy |
| W3 bus only | From Finsbury Park or Tottenham | Handy from the north | No direct link from the centre |
| Taxi or private hire | Drop-off at Palm Court, via the west slip road | Door to door | Check the fare and journey time when you book |
Source: Alexandra Palace access page, checked 21 October 2026. The taxi line only reflects the drop-off indication.
The Piccadilly line has partial closures linked to new trains in 2026; the press announces their introduction from December 2026. No closure of Wood Green for December has been found: check the status of the line on TfL the day before.
Alexandra Palace station is at the Wood Green side of the park. Finsbury Park is presented as the most suitable station for step-free access: confirm this on the Transport for London website. The official page does not describe a step-free route between the station and the Great Hall: ask at reception, on 020 8365 4343.
Entering the UK: ETA, passport and bags
The Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA)
The press says French nationals must apply for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before leaving. An extract from the gov.uk page gives a fee of £20. It is valid for two years or until the passport expires if that comes sooner, and allows stays of up to six months per visit. Apply only on gov.uk: private sites charge service fees for the same result. The start date of checks is disputed: AFP cites a rollout from 2 April 2025, while The3million and Ulysse cite strict checks from 25 February 2026. Confirm the rule on gov.uk before you apply.
Check the gov.uk page at the time of your application: it is the reference.
Passport or ID card
Travel with your biometric passport, still in date. The press claims the French national identity card is no longer accepted, but this rule has not been confirmed on a government page: do not rely on it without checking.
Hand luggage
The maximum bag size was not found on the official page we read: check the organiser’s FAQ before you buy. No specific rule for the 2026-2027 edition was found.
Atmosphere, fancy dress and venue rules
The tournament has a reputation as a party as much as a championship. According to spectators’ accounts, people sing, drink beer and many come in fancy dress. No age rule was found for 2026-2027: do not assume a limit. The 2020 rules, which banned fancy dress and singing during the Covid pandemic, no longer appear in recent sources, even though older articles still repeat them.
Fancy dress
- Fancy dress is tolerated, according to a secondary source.
- Outfits judged politically offensive, or carrying campaigning messages, can be refused at the entrance.
- Secondary sources list football shirts, fake weapons and some inflatables. The organiser has not confirmed these for 2026-2027.
Dress up if you like, in a simple costume with no prop that could pass for a weapon, and read the official FAQ before you go.
Budget: what can be costed and what is still an estimate
The ticket is the biggest cost, but not the only one. We found no dated accommodation rate for December 2026: comparison sites show prices with no arrival date, so we do not use them.
| Item | Amount recorded | Date recorded | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Official ticket, first round, stands | From £55 | 8 August 2026 | Official |
| Official ticket, final, stands | £95 | 8 August 2026 | Official |
| Resold ticket, 11 December session | £144.82 to £473.26 | Unknown | Unofficial |
| ETA authorisation | £20 | 21 October 2026 | gov.uk extract |
| Agency package, 28 to 30 December | €990 per person | 21 October 2026 | Commercial |
| Eurostar Paris-London | From €44 (one-off offer) | August 2026 | To check on eurostar.com |
| Accommodation and meals | Not costed | No dated rate | To compare for your dates |
Sources: DartsNews (grid of 8 August 2026), gov.uk (ETA), A-Mardi (package), checked 21 October 2026; resale prices come from undated extracts.
To save without losing out on the evening: the first round is the cheapest on the grid, and stand seats cost much less than tables or the 501 Club lounge. The figures to know: official tickets from £55 to £95 in the stands, from the first round to the final; Eurostar from €44 for a one-off offer to check; the A-Mardi package at €990 per person, with two nights, Eurostar and a seat on 29 December, as a commercial offer. Accommodation is not costed: no dated rate was found.
London around the tournament

December in London, between sessions
Hyde Park hosts Winter Wonderland from 19 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, according to the organiser’s ticket guide, checked 21 October 2026. Prices are on the site. For the New Year’s Eve fireworks, the Mayor of London announces an evening from 8 pm to 12:30 am; tickets, up to £55 according to the extract we read, go on sale on Ticketmaster from 23 October 2026 at 12 pm.

Where to stay during the tournament

Choosing your area by session
The right area depends on your session time. After an evening session, pick an area served by several lines.
Areas to consider
- Wood Green: near the Piccadilly line station and the W3 bus to Alexandra Palace.
- Finsbury Park: well served by train and by the W3 bus.
- King’s Cross and Camden: central links; King’s Cross gives access to the direct train, Camden needs a change.
No accommodation is named in particular: the rates we found are not dated. Compare two or three areas with your exact dates.
What other guides don’t tell you
Several online guides repeat an outdated set-up. Here are four points checked against official pages or specialist media on 21 October 2026.
- The general sale has disappeared this season. Applications ran from 1 to 14 September 2026, with precise rules: two sessions at most, six tickets per session, bank card charged only if you win. Some pages online still describe a sale that sells out in minutes: that is wrong for 2026-2027. Source: official tournament page (checked 21 October 2026).
- Each round now has its own dates. The first round runs from 11 to 19 December, the quarter-finals are on 1 January, the semi-finals on 2 January and the final on Sunday 3 January 2027. A travel guide still shows « dates to come ». Source: DartsNews, grid of 8 August 2026 (checked 21 October 2026).
- There is a price grid, round by round. Stands from £55 to £95, tables from £75 to £110, 501 Club lounge from £399 to £599. Missing from an AI chatbot’s answer and from a travel guide we checked for this article. Source: DartsNews, grid of 8 August 2026 (checked 21 October 2026).
- Accessible tickets go through the same ballot. A free companion ticket is available on proof, to be stated in the application. Source: official tournament page (checked 21 October 2026).

The only remaining route is resale between fans on See Tickets Fan-to-Fan, the only resale the organiser authorises. No visa, but an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) is required according to the press. Apply only on gov.uk, and travel with a passport that is still valid.
How do you get to Alexandra Palace from central London?
The simplest is the direct Great Northern train from King’s Cross or Moorgate, to Alexandra Palace station.
