Rock Werchter 2026 runs from 2 to 5 July at the Festivalpark in Werchter, Belgium, 30 km from Brussels. The 4-day pass costs €315; Saturday and Sunday single-day tickets are sold out, but Thursday and Friday (€140/day) remain available on Ticketmaster. Headliners are Gorillaz (Saturday Main Stage), The Cure (Sunday) and The xx (Friday). A return train from any Belgian station is included with every pass. From London, take the Eurostar to Brussels-Midi (1h53), then a Belgian train to Leuven (35 min) and the free De Lijn shuttle to the festival site.
Fifty-two years of history, six Arthur Awards for « best festival in the world », and a reputation that continues to dominate European summer festival circuits. Rock Werchter 2026 brings 88,000 festival-goers per day to the fields of Rotselaar, Belgium, from 2 to 5 July. This edition stands out with three long-awaited returns — The Cure for the first time since 2019, The xx after eight years away, and David Byrne performing Talking Heads classics — alongside a physical redesign of the site: 1.5 additional hectares, KluB C relocated to the entrance, and The Slope entirely rebuilt. For UK festival-goers, the logistics are straightforward: Eurostar from London St Pancras to Brussels-Midi (1h53), then a Belgian train to Leuven and a free shuttle bus to the festival. Total journey time from London: under three hours.
1. Full programme — day by day

Four days, four headliners
According to the official Rock Werchter 2026 programme, the daily schedule is as follows:
Thursday 2 July — Mumford & Sons
Mumford & Sons close the opening night on the Main Stage (23:30–01:00), on their « Prizefighter » tour for their sixth album produced by Aaron Dessner. Earlier in the day: Elvis Costello & The Imposters with Charlie Sexton (16:00), Kasabian (17:40), The War on Drugs (21:15). At The Barn: The Prodigy (21:50) and JADE (19:50).
Friday 3 July — The xx
The most anticipated reunion of 2026: The xx (Romy, Oliver and Jamie xx) return to the Main Stage at Werchter for the first time since 2012, eight years on from their last tour. They headline a day that also features Lewis Capaldi (21:00–22:30) for his comeback after two years away, and FKA Twigs at The Barn (19:40–21:05). Charlotte de Witte, Belgian techno DJ ranked no. 9 in DJ Mag 2025, closes The Barn at 22:00.
Saturday 4 July — Gorillaz + Twenty One Pilots (SOLD OUT)
Gorillaz present « The Mountain » (released 27 February 2026, no. 1 on the UK Albums Chart) on the Main Stage from 20:55 to 22:25. According to Wikipedia, the album blends classical Indian instruments with lyrics in English, Arabic, Hindi, Spanish and Yoruba. Classics (« Clint Eastwood », « Feel Good Inc. », « DARE ») are expected alongside new songs from the tour. Twenty One Pilots (23:25–01:00) co-headline with their album « Breach ». Saturday is sold out as a single-day ticket.
Sunday 5 July — The Cure (SOLD OUT)
Robert Smith and The Cure, making their first appearance at Werchter since 2019, close the festival on the Main Stage from 22:30 to 00:45 (2h15 set). According to NME, Robert Smith has indicated a new album is nearly complete. The day also includes David Byrne at The Barn (19:10–20:20) and Paul Kalkbrenner (21:20–22:50).

- Saturday and Sunday single days sold out — waiting list only

2. The acts you cannot miss

Gorillaz, The Cure, David Byrne, FKA Twigs, The xx
Gorillaz — « The Mountain Tour » (Saturday, Main Stage, 20:55–22:25)
Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett present their ninth studio album « The Mountain », recorded in India and London with classical Indian instruments, which debuted at no. 1 on the UK Albums Chart. A Gorillaz live show is an immersive audiovisual spectacle: animated characters Murdoc, Noodle and Russel are projected onto a giant screen while Albarn conducts a large ensemble of musicians. Classics (« Clint Eastwood », « Feel Good Inc. », « Dirty Harry », « DARE ») alternate with new tracks from the tour.
FKA Twigs — « Body High Tour » (Friday, The Barn, 19:40–21:05)
According to NME, Tahliah Debrett Barnett is touring for her albums « EUSEXUA » (January 2025, unanimous critical acclaim) and « EUSEXUA Afterglow ». Her set at The Barn runs 1h25 — an exceptional duration for a festival slot. The European leg ended on 12 June 2026 in Berlin; Rock Werchter is a separate festival engagement. Her set combines singing, contemporary dance and elaborate choreography.
David Byrne (Sunday, The Barn, 19:10–20:20)
At 74, the Talking Heads founder presents his « Who Is the Sky » album (2025) tour. According to NME on his Coachella 2026 performance, his set consistently includes Talking Heads classics: « Psycho Killer », « Once in a Lifetime », « Burning Down the House », « This Must Be the Place ». A dozen musicians in monochrome outfits move across the stage without fixed instruments in a theatrical performance. The Barn guarantees optimal acoustics.
The xx — the grand reunion (Friday, Main Stage, 23:30–00:45)
Romy Madley Croft, Oliver Sim and Jamie xx reunite after eight years of solo careers. According to Rock Werchter official, this is their first performance at the festival since 2012, and one of their rare European summer dates in 2026 alongside Down The Rabbit Hole and Primavera. Their minimalist indie-rock and electronica translate perfectly to the atmosphere of a large outdoor night stage.
3. Getting to Rock Werchter from London and the UK

The Belgian train is included in every festival pass
According to SNCB, every festival ticket includes a 16-character code (beginning « 0IFG… ») to download a free return 2nd-class train from any Belgian station to Leuven or Aarschot, with the De Lijn shuttle to the Festivalpark included. The code will be available to download via Ticketmaster from 10 June 2026.
From London (Eurostar)
Eurostar runs from London St Pancras International to Brussels-Midi in 1h53. Standard class fares start from £39 one-way; book early for July dates as prices rise significantly in summer. From Brussels-Midi, Belgian IC trains to Leuven run every 15–30 minutes (35 min journey). The free De Lijn shuttle from Leuven station to the Festivalpark takes 20–25 minutes. Total door-to-door from central London: under 3 hours. Return travel budget London–Brussels: approximately £80–150 depending on booking lead time.
From Brussels
IC trains from Brussels-Midi/Centrale/Noord to Leuven run every 15–30 minutes, covering the 35-minute journey. The De Lijn shuttle from Leuven station to the Festivalpark runs continuously during festival days. Total: 1h05 to 1h30 depending on connections. Driving is strongly discouraged: parking is paid (€20–40/day), far from the site, and night trains home are far more efficient.
From Leuven (Leuven)
The university city closest to the festival (15 km) is the ideal base for non-campers. The De Lijn shuttle departs directly from the station and is included in the ticket. Near-continuous frequency on festival days. Leuven also offers the most remarkable Gothic Town Hall in Belgium (1439–1463, 235 statues), the Groot Begijnhof (UNESCO) and 40+ bars on the Oude Markt — a natural stop before or after the shows.
From Antwerp
Train Antwerp-Central → Leuven (~40 min, possible connection at Mechelen), then festival shuttle. Total journey: 1h15–1h30. The night train home stops at Antwerp-Berchem and Antwerp-Central.
- Book your Eurostar early — July festival dates sell out, standard fares from £39 one-way
- Download your SNCB code via Ticketmaster from 10 June 2026
- Night trains home to Brussels, Ghent, Antwerp, Bruges run within 30 min of the last act
- Free secure bike parking available for local attendees
4. Accommodation and budget

Camping, Leuven hotels, Airbnb in Rotselaar
Standard The Hive camping (€48.61) is sold out. According to Rock Werchter camping official, The Hive My Space (private space without tent, from €82.42/person) remains available in limited numbers, along with Regular Camping (sites A1, C3, C7) which opens Thursday 2 July at 08:00. The Hive opens Wednesday 1 July at 14:00, with Central Park (morning café, evening dancing) at the heart of the camping area.
Non-camping options
For non-campers, Leuven (15 km, direct shuttle) is the best base: Novotel Leuven Centre offers a festival transport package, and Ibis Budget is directly opposite the station for quick boarding. Airbnbs in Werchter and Rotselaar (3 km from the site, walkable) range from €40 to €194 depending on format — booking 6–12 months ahead is recommended. Brussels (35–40 min by train) offers the widest range of price options, making it a practical choice for UK visitors already arriving via Eurostar.
Estimated budget
A 4-day camping attendee (pass €315 + camping €49–83 + Eurostar return approx. £80–150 + food €180–250 + locker €43) should budget between €700 and €900 all in. For a single-day trip from Leuven, budget €350–450 (ticket €140 + hotel €80–120 + Eurostar approx. £80 + food €50–70). The cashless system uses Coins: 1 Coin = €3.90 on site, or €3.60 when topped up before 28 June 2026. Unused Coins can be refunded from 9 July to 9 August 2026 (€3.50 admin fee).

- VIP Hospitality packages available: €410/day or €1,425/4-day combo
5. The 2026 site: what has changed

+1.5 ha, KluB C relocated, The Slope rebuilt
According to Festileaks, the Festivalpark gains 1.5 additional hectares for 2026. KluB C, the tent dedicated to electronic music, moves to the festival entrance, away from The Barn. This separation should reduce sound bleed and improve flow between areas. The Slope is entirely rebuilt with a new architecture — its future name will be put to a fan vote. The aim: more rest areas and chill-out zones between stages.
The four stages in 2026
The outdoor Main Stage (up to 88,000 people) is reserved for headliners and afternoon big names. The Barn, a large air-conditioned tent with excellent acoustics, hosts indie, alternative rock and electronic sets (including FKA Twigs and David Byrne). KluB C, an air-conditioned tent for techno and dance, programmes Charlotte de Witte (Friday) and Paul Kalkbrenner (Sunday). The Slope (the newly redesigned stage) is dedicated to emerging artists and mid-card acts.
Sustainability and green credentials
Rock Werchter won the European Festival Awards « Green Operations Award » in 2022 and 2023. Initiatives include: free trains included in tickets for twenty years, 2 temporary wind turbines and a mobile solar installation, reusable cups (0.2 Coin deposit), 15 recycled RPET bottles = 1 free Coin, a 70% waste diversion target, and donation of leftover food to food banks on the Monday after the festival.

6. Exploring Leuven and Brussels before or after the festival

Leuven and Brussels: two natural stopovers
Leuven, 15 km from the Festivalpark and 30 min from Brussels by train, is the ideal logistical base for non-campers. The Flamboyant Gothic Town Hall (1439–1463, 235 statues) is one of the most ornate in Belgium. The Groot Begijnhof (UNESCO) offers a calm walk before the festival nights. If your summer itinerary includes other European festivals, see our Roskilde 2026 guide or our culture and festivals dossier on Pixidia. The Oude Markt gathers 40+ bars in the student atmosphere of the oldest Catholic university in the world (KU Leuven, founded 1425). Stella Artois offers guided brewery tours on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Brussels, 35–40 min from Werchter, is worth an extended visit for the Grand-Place (UNESCO), chocolatiers Wittamer, Neuhaus and Marcolini, the Royal Museums of Fine Arts, and the Châtelain neighbourhood for gastronomy. The Brussels Summer Festival (free concerts on 3 squares, 8–18 July) follows immediately after Rock Werchter to extend the musical experience. The Belgium page on Pixidia brings together further itinerary ideas in the region.
- Leuven: Gothic Town Hall, Groot Begijnhof UNESCO, Domus artisan brewery
- Brussels: Grand-Place, artisan chocolatiers, BOZAR, Châtelain neighbourhood
- Antwerp: MoMu fashion museum, Rubens House, Nationalestraat, Eilandje quarter
- Brussels Summer Festival: free concerts 8–18 July (right after Rock Werchter)

Which camping option should I choose for Rock Werchter 2026?
Standard The Hive camping (€48.61) is sold out. The Hive My Space (private space without tent, from €82.42/person) remains available in limited numbers. Regular Camping (sites A1, C3, C7) opens Thursday 2 July at 08:00 and is the cheapest option. A beer costs 1 to 1.5 Coins (€3.90–5.85), a meal 2 to 4 Coins (€7.80–15.60). Unused Coins can be refunded from 9 July to 9 August 2026 on rockwerchter.be (€3.50 admin fee).
Will Gorillaz play classics like « Feel Good Inc. » at Werchter?
Yes. The Mountain Tour is built primarily around the ninth album « The Mountain » (released 27 February 2026, no. 1 on the UK Albums Chart), but the set consistently includes classics: « Clint Eastwood », « Feel Good Inc. », « Dirty Harry », « DARE ». A Gorillaz live show is an audiovisual spectacle with projections of animated characters (Murdoc, Noodle, Russel) on a giant screen, backed by a large ensemble of live musicians.
What is the weather like at Werchter in early July and what should I pack?
Flemish Brabant in early July: 20–28°C during the day, 12–16°C at night, with frequent sudden showers. Pack: lightweight waterproof, waterproof shoes (the ground can get muddy), light jacket for night sets, sunscreen for afternoons, powerbank (digital tickets and app), earplugs. The site is sandy (unlike Glastonbury mud) but equally exposed to unpredictable Belgian weather.
Can you attend Rock Werchter without camping?
Yes. Many festival-goers return each evening to Leuven or Brussels on the special night trains that depart within 30 minutes of the last act. Trains stop at Brussels-Nord/Centrale/Midi, Ghent-Sint-Pieters, Bruges, Ostend, Antwerp-Berchem and Antwerp-Central. UK visitors often combine a Eurostar arrival on Wednesday evening with a Leuven hotel base for the full four days — a popular and practical approach.
